Military Discounts?

I just got a text from a military family wanting info for a last minute trip. I remember seeing something about military discounts for tickets. Does anyone have any info I could pass along to them? Thanks

For Disney world, the military member or their spouse can purchase 6 tickets for $196 eavh, if they would like to add water park and more fun ticket, it's $230. They can buy these tickets at their ITT building on their base or at the shades of green hotel located near the magic kingdom

militarydisneytips . com has all the info they need. Many bases/posts will also sell tickets over the phone and overnight them if they aren't close to an ITT location.

We use the military passes and they are the best deal out there. For WDW it works out to be roughly $50/day with park hopper and you can't beat that price.

If they want a hotel that is on site, Disney offers a limited amount of rooms at 30-40% off according to Disney Military Tips. They are in limited quantities and you have to call or use a Disney Travel agent to get them. That can be quite valuable for them to know as well. Shades of Green is among the first resorts to sell out on WDW property because it is a good deal for Military families.

You can get the tickets tax free for $196 on your military base at MWR...but tickets are not accepted on blockout dates. My family and I couldn't book Shades of Green because we planned this trip 30 days out and they are booked through June. So you would need to plan way ahead for a room there. However, we booked the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans and got 35% off!

Military definitely gets the best deal! We got 4 day park hopper tickets and 3 nights in a moderate resort with the upgraded room and it's going to cost only $416 per person and that's including tax. About 50% savings. Not bad at all.

You can order tickets from Shades of Green. For us, the entire process from the time we faxed our order in, SOG called us to verify and to get payment information and we received our park hoppers via FedEx (you have to be present to sign for package) took about 8 days.
