ok my grandfather is retired military... is there anyway he can purchase tickets for us for the trip we are going on? or does he have to be with us for this trip? i am really trying to find a way to save since my husband who was honorably discharged from the military and is law enforcement isnt qualified for such discounts

The military member needs to show his ID when all salute tickets are activated, so yes he would have to be with you. Now, if he just purchases regular Stars and Stripes tickets on base, he may not need to be with you. At DLR one year my husband needed to show his ID, but my SIL did not. We have only used the Military Salute tickets at WDW and have had to show ID when we activate our children's and grandchildren's tickets.

The military member or the spouse of the military member with ID. For up to 6? tickets I think. We only buy 2 for DH and I. We had to show ID in 2011 at the ticket window to get our actual tickets using the military salute "tickets" we bought through Shades of Green, but the same applies to those bought at any MWR location (base or facility).
