Hi there- I'll be @ WDW in November of this year. When I looked up about military ticket discounts, the only info. I could find re. to purchase/use by dates of Sept. 30, 12. Does anyone know if/what discounts will be available after that? THanks!:):)

As fas as I know, there has NOT been an announcement if the HERO salute tickets will be continued after that date. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they are though!:thumbsup2

I am also hoping there is an extension or at least some kind of a deal after Sept 2012 on the tickets. My family and I are going Dec 1-8th. I am so hoping. We have a condo and also our plane tickets. So we are locked in.

The last time we went, I think it was two years ago - so October 2010 - we fell in that gap between the expiration of the Hero deal and the announcement of the new one. We got to Shades of Green and I bought the regular tickets and THE NEXT DAY they announced the new Hero tickets. I was kicking myself. If I hadn't been in such a hurry to avoid the morning line I would have saved some bucks! We still had a great time though!

Who Knows What EVIL Lurks In The Heart Of Disney Marketing?!

When Disney feels ready to implement their next promotion they will do so. If other recent promotions have been any indication, for about the first month nobody will really understand it and the Marketing people will not have thought out all the ramifications.

When I asked they ( disney) said to be on the looku for fall deals after Memorial day! and when MNSSHP dates are released!

With the war winding down and deployment tempo decreasing, I wouldn't be shocked if there was no new "deal" in the new fiscal year. The military tickets have gotten less and less discounted (although they are still an awesome deal) and I expect this trend to continue. I remember when the 5 day hopper was free for AD and you could get 5 friends tickets (also 5-day hoppers) for 99 a piece. And realistically, with the hotel discount, it's frequently possible to find a better deal elsewhere (SOG f you're the deluxe type, free dining at Values if you're not)

FWIW, you might want to check out the Individual enrollment YES tickets if you are looking for discount tickets past Sept 2012

I completely agree with you that no one should count on these military discounts continuing as the war winds down. However, I would guess that some type of disount will be announced for 2013; not counting on 2014.

That free 5 day hopper and $99 family tickets was a fantastic deal.

I'm going to be keeping my eye on this thread, I was all set to go get my tickets and then I read the expiration date :rolleyes2 . I hope the military discount is continued!

When I talked to the lady at Shades, she said not to expect the same deal next year. She told me that there was a mistake and that Disney did not intend to extend the promotion into 2012, but that they messed up the date on some promotional materials, and then had to extend it.

Bummer, but we've enjoyed it while it lasted:goodvibes:thumbsup2

I have already gotten my park hoppers for this year. Used only 2 days of the 4. Planning to go back mid September to be able to use the other 2 days. What are the chances of already used tickets' expiration dates being extended? If they do another promotion does it include these tickets or is only good for new ones? Thanks

This past go-round was the first time that the promotion was "extended". In the past years, the promotion ended on the previously set date and if you had tickets from that promotion, no matter when you bought them or how many days were left on them, they were no longer worth anything. Even when the "new" promotion was announced and "new" tickets went on sale, you couldn't use the prior years promotional tickets. I'm not sure why this past 2 years' promotion was treated differently (see above about the "mistake" - who knows?) but I would count on trying to use them before the end of September. (which it sounds like you will anyway)
