Military discount?

How does the military discount work at Walt Disney World, can you stay at any resort or is there a special place to stay?

I believe it is possible to get it at all the resorts, but availability is based on the number of total rooms they have left to book in a particular category, so I would recommend booking as soon as you know you want to go. In the past, the discount was 30% off of values, 35% off of moderates and the FW cabins and 40% off at deluxe resorts.

Plus there is shades of green that is a military rec resort on property

How is shades of green compared to other Disney resorts?

The rooms are larger and its based on rank. Plus they are usually running a spwxial

All depends on what is available. I once had a military discount at POR and after calling a few times through a month or two Wilderness lodge finally had something available. You have to call and see what is available and if its worth the price you want to pay.

Personally I like to stay on one of Disney's resorts vs SOG.
