Military Discount?

I have my military salute tickets and the instructions say to take them right to the turnstiles. Does this sound right?

We have always had to take the WDW ones to guest relations.

If you have the military salute tickets that are for a hundred and some dollars....you must go to a ticket booth and have them activated....just did it in February. If they are regular discounted tickets from the base then you don't need to go to the ticket booth.

Jiminy Cricket, this is getting more confusing than it has to be For DisneyLAND, the Armed Forces Salute promotion is a 3-day park hopper for $99. If we are talking about any other military ticket, then different rules apply. On my base, there are no vouchers, which is why I'm curious about the Disneyland voucher the PP mentioned. DL operates differently than Shades of Green at WDW and I usually just hear about military members getting regular tickets.

We have ours for our May trip. MWR provided "vouchers" in the form of a piece of paper with the info (and bar codes), which have all the ticket info. We will take these 8 1/2 x 11 pieces of paper and get "normal" ticket media, which may be used to enter the park, use in FP machines, etc. I was instructed to go to the ticket booth for exchange, but I'll try at the front desk of the GCH.

Basically, it is a piece of paper with a tracking number instructing the CM to gimmie a real ticket . LOL, I was just imagining trying to stuff the sheet of paper in the FP machine ....it doesn't work! why doesn't it take the ticket!

Joint Base Lewis McCord in WA State doesn't have ticket media (small rectangular things) on hand for the Salute tickets. Instead, the MWR at Ft Lewis went to a website (likely Disney) to "request" the tickets. This was granted, and the approval info was printed on a normal piece of paper. My instructions were to exchange the paper for actual media (normal tickets) at DL ticket booth.

Ahhh. Yes, probably because we are close, we have tickets on hand. I was just curious because WDW3 said they had a paper that said to take it directly to the turnstiles, which is why I was wondering if their paper had a barcode on it, similar to the Disneyland.com e-tickets.

Also, for any military members reading this, you do not have to buy your Salute tickets on a base. You can buy them directly from the ticket booths at Disneyland. This is only for the 3-day $99 parkhopper special, not for regular discounted military tickets.
