Does anyone know what the military discount rate is at any of the Universal area hotels? I would like to add an extra day on to our Disney vacation and stay at Universal so I can spend a day with Harry Potter.

We are going next month for 2 nights and I was able to get the HRH for $198 a night with the military salute rate.

Do you have to call to get this rate or book through ITR/MWR? Thanks.

Sorry to hi-jack but do they do offer the mil. discount for club level or only basic rooms?

Trying to do the right thing and use a thread that was already started. We have ressies at the RPR for March 17 & March 18. Currently at rack rate. There were no Military discounts (or even AAA) when I booked yesterday. We actually wanted Club level rooms. There was a club room available, but only on the 18th. So we took the standard room, which was available for both nights. My question(s) for your experts:

1) do you think they are all out of their allotted Military/AAA rooms for our travel dates? Or they are just not available at this time?

2) what do you think our chances are that a club level room may open up by the time we travel? Meaning, do you experts see a lot of people just hold rooms and cancel as the last day to cancel date approaches?

TIA, h.:flower3:

I would suspect that for your dates you are going in March that there may NOT be any discounts available. Its during Spring Break time, Disney has no discounts for that time either, free dining was not available for a block of time in March/April, nor was the room only discount for the general public.

I will add my 2 cents- we were able to get a military discount for our visit in June. My guess is they have already booked the rooms they have allotted for military discounts during the time you will be visiting. I started calling about discounts a few months ago and had to keep calling back until the computer finally showed what the discount was (BTW, it is 30% off the rack rate for us). Just last week, I decided I would rather have club level (if it was economical) and called to change our standard room at HRH (with military discount) to club level at RPR (with military discount). It was taken care of without any problem...except I now owe $42 more! :lmao: If I were you, I would keep checking. BTW, these are the rates I was quoted for one night in June:

HRH standard room $230.30
RPR club level $272.30

Hope that helps!:thumbsup2

Thanks So Much...

I will keep my fingers crossed and keep calling. Either way I am happy to be booked. A day or 2 at Uni is better than no day at all. But sure would be nice to save some $$. Thanks again!

I just called today and got AAA rates for March 26 and 27 at RPH.

Yippee...FWIW, I called back today...I did have to change hotels and pay a little extra, but I not only got the Military discount, but I got Club Level too, at the HRH! We were looking forward to the RPR, so just more reason to come back and visit another time. Very excited!
