Sorry if this has been answered already somewhere - the search function doesn't seem to be working.
We are planning to be in Las Vegas this summer and want to drive out to DL for a couple of days. I have read that you can get discounted military tickets there (we are used to just buying the WDW ones at SOG). We are on the east coast, so our local MWR/ITT office doesn't sell DL, only WDW tickets. Does anyone know where we can get military discount tickets for DL?

I do not know, but something that comes up often with them is that the 3+ day military-discount parkhoppers do not include a Magic Morning entry, like normal 3+ day parkhoppers do. Just so ya know.

You have to go to a MWR office to buy the miltary tickets. They dont sell any at the gates as far a I know. I know if we want ticket they dont normally carry we can order them from our local office, it takes about 2 weeks to get them. They are maybe $20 chepaer than the will call/mail order price if I recall right. We have been annual pass holders the past few years so I forgrt the exact price. We plan to not renew the pass this year and go back to military tickets. One good thing about getting ahead of time is no line to stand in just to get tickets. :-)

Bumpershoot is right they do not include early morning admission. Thats the extra hour in the morning. I have not gone in with extra hour before but we never have a problem doing about 4 to 6 rides in the first hour of park operation including when it opens an hour before we can get in.

if you are going to vegas there is an air force base right there. . . between vegas and disney, no bases that i can think of.. .

san diego of course I can think of a bunch. . . the closest to disney would be either camp pendleton or pt heuneme. . . but if your in vegas try the air foce base.

Nellis AFB, in Las Vegas, might have them, but call first and check. They do have special prices for military and we used the tickets last year with no problems.

Nellis will have them, and if you go to their website, you can get a downloadable price list with their phone number. You do not get the EE unless you stay onsite, but the tickets usually save you an average of $10 a person, there is also a small Marine Corps base in Barstow, and they have tickets for things, but you would definitely be better off going to Nellis since they are bigger and more likely to have the tickets on hand.

I called the Air Force Central Ticket Program and was told Edwards AFB sells them and will also do mail order. Here's their number: 661-275-8747, they also have hotel vouchers where you can get Camelot Inn for $85/nt (however the rooms are very limited so you have to check availability first).

Edwards is kind of out of the way to drive if you intend on driving straight from Vegas to Disney, and if you call Nellis, they will probably do mail order as well, there are other hotel vouchers that are offered, too. Edwards doesn't have a 2008 price list on their website yet, but Nellis does.

Make sure you know your prices. I had military tickets once ( craigslist ) and the discount wasnt' THAT great. A 3 day childs parkhopper was $114. Which was good but not OMG!! You may be able to get a better deal someplace else if you look around.

You would have to get them at a military base MWR. Have you asked if your MWR would order them for you and the price they would charge to do that? Our MWR here in Hawaii only sells DL tickets, but they said they will order WDW tickets for you...you just have to request them about a month before you plan to go.

Dont forget when comparing price Military prices never have Tax added to them everyone else must add tax to the advertised price.

Occassionally this is true, you have to just check around and compare prices. Right now, the military isn't doing the bonus 3 for 5 deal, but I got a 5 day adult hopper for $159, which ended up being a $10 savings, and we still get 5 days. We also got our Premium AP's for $162, which is $17 off the regular price. Of course any savings we got is already spent by the fact we are staying onsite :rotfl: .

That is not true. If you go to the DL website or Getawaytoday.com and purchase a parkhopper for $169, you do not pay additional tax, tax is already included in any ticket price. If you have tickets shipped, then you usually have to pay shipping, but not sales tax. With the military you do not pay tax, but most ticket prices include a service charge of some kind, that's part of how MWR makes their money.

we went last year and since we had a 5 day military hopper we did get 1 day of early entry...it was part of having a 5 day hopper...and I did check around and price my tickets out and in all the research I did it was cheaper to buy the tickets on base...I would say go with the AFB in Vegas {if you can} and if not see if the East Coast MWR can order them for you from another MWR out on the West Coast...just an idea...hope this helps!

Thanks for all the great information! We will be in Vegas, so I could go to the Air Force base there, I guess. Someone mentioned a website for it - does anyone have a link? I found the main site for Nellis AFB, but couldn't find any info on there about MWR or ticket sales.
I might also call our local ITT to see if they can get them for me.

If anyone has any more information, I'll take it!

thanks again!

Here is the link for Nellis ITT : http://www.nellisservices.com/itt.asp Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Theme Park link for ticket prices. The phone number is also listed there, so give them a call if you have questions. I would also check with your ITT and see if they will order the tickets for you and how much they are. It's worth a shot. But, you shouldn't have any trouble getting them in Vegas when you are there.
