Military Discount Ticket Question

I'm going down to Orlando with my friend's family this summer. They are planning on buying those 5-day military salute park hopper tickets for us, but my friend's parents(the "eligible service members") don't plan on going to the parks or buying tickets for themselves during this trip. Disney's website says "one of the six (6) Tickets purchased must be used by the Eligible Service Member or his/her spouse." Does this mean they cannot just buy tickets for us to use? They will be on vacation with us, they just prefer to spend their days relaxing by the pool.

The eligible service member (or eligible spouse) must purchase one of the 6 to be assigned to themselves, and they must be present when the tickets are activated. After that, the party can split up for the rest of the stay, but the SM will have a ticket.

Okay thanks! They will be on vacation with us so activating the tickets won't be a problem. I guess one of her parents will just have to get tickets for themselves, but that's not too big of a problem because they'll still save a significant amount of money even if you factor in the extra ticket they'll have to buy.

If you buy the tickets at SOG they are already activated--meaning the service member doesn't have to go to the park with you.
