What is the discount on a 6 day ticket for military? I know they have the 4 day ones for $138 but it seems like I read somewhere you can get 10% or something off a longer ticket. Is that correct?

The only discount Disney gives at the gate is currently the 4-day Park-hopper for $138. If you want to walk over to Shades of Green (near the Poly) you can purchase tickets there, tax-free, at a slight discount. Prices are given here:

If you have access to a military base, ask at your ITT/MWR office. I purchase ours there and saved $30 on child seasonal APs and $5 on mine.

Also, check out the Stars and Stripes tickets, they include the Hopper automatically and I think they might be slightly cheaper than the the regular WDW base tickets (link in the other post) you can get at SoG without tax.

We're military, and we'll be going to Disney in Sept. with my mom and sister. Can you get the Stars/Stripes tickets for your family as well, or does each person using a ticket need a military ID? I have a military I.D.; would I be able to go to SOG, and pick up all the tickets, including the ones for my mom and sister?

For the tickets at SoG, only the person purchasing the tickets has to have a military ID. And unless you are specifically looking for the S&S ticket, you can get discounted tickets at your local base ITT/MWR office (but they may have to order them for you).

Also, FYI, I believe you have to be staying either at SOG on at a Disney Resort to purchase the Stars and Stripes tickets.

If they are anything like out MWR office, good luck getting anything. Ours sold out of the Military Salute Tickets just a few hours before we arrived to purchase ours and said they wouldn't be getting more. They never offered to order more and I had cash in hand.

It was a hassle to go to Shade of Green, but we may just do that next time.

I don't believe that is true. We've never been asked where we were staying when purchasing the Stars & Stripes tickets. They are a perk for military members, not just military members staying on WDW property.

We're staying at a Disney resort, but on points... would that still work?

See my above post. I'm 99.98% positive that you don't have to be staying on WDW property. We have never been asked where we were staying when purchasing or using the S&S tickets and we have used them when staying on points too.

She may have said that because if you go on the SoG website, it asks if you are staying at SoG or on Disney Property and you can click on that as an option, before it brings up the ticket prices. I know it did yesteray when I when on their site looking for ticket prices.

We were staying offsite the first night of our Dec trip when we went to SoG and we were never asked where we were staying. We purchased the Military Salute Tickets.

Yes, you will be fine

We luckily have had a difference experience with our MWR. We just went to our MWR office today and purchased the 4 day, $138.00 tickets. Instead of us having to wait in line and wait for the ticket office to open at SOG on our first day there, we were able to order them and pay an extra $10.oo Fed Ex delivery fee. They will be delivered to our MWR within 14 buisness days so we will have them in hand when we get to SOG. :woohoo:

Ok now you got me wondering. Is the ticket office at SOG only open certain hours? We were just going to go buy the tickets at SOG on the way to ASMo. It might be 6pm or it might be 10pm when we get there. I never thought about them being closed.

Actually, it specifically says on the SOG website that the Stars & Stripes tickets are only for eligible guests staying at either SOG or a Disney resort. Here's the link: http://www.shadesofgreen.org/StarsStripes.htm

I guess you got lucky in that they didn't require any proof that you were in fact guests of SOG or Disney, but I wouldn't count on being able to purchase them if you're not staying onsite. YMMV

can someone tell me exactly what the S&S ticket includes? When I click on the link, I'm getting a black screen and nothing happens. TIA!!

There's a video that comes up for me after a moment on that black screen. It says that the S & S ticket is a length of stay pass that has both the PH and Water Park/More options, and that it expires one day after the length of the ticket purchased (ie a 4 day pass would expire on the 5th day from the first day of use) which would give you the option to take a break day mid trip.

It allows unlimited access and hopping of the four theme parks and the five minor parks. It is for entry for a pecific number of days and, as the PP mentioned, it is set to allow one off (or break) day in between.

is there a limit as to how many S&S tickets one ID holder can buy?

Yes, you can only buy 6 tickets unless the service member's immediate family (spouse + kids) is greater than the 6 allowed tickets.

We have done the military Stars and Stripes package every year since it's come out and this year we just decided to get annuals! :rotfl:

Thank you all for your answers....so many questions..this is our first time staying at SOG..we usually stay at the Poly. there's 14 people going on this trip so its very confusing at times
