Military Discount On Resorts?

I read in the Deb's WDW Guide that there is a Military discount on select WDW resorts through December, excluding Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Anybody know any more details on this, or has anyone taken advantage of it yet? I know it's not the same as the wonderful deal they had last year, but still, it sounded pretty good. Thanks in advance for any info!

There's a great code on mousesavers that will get military 50% off room rates, and it's good until Feb 12. Just call Disney directly and tell the CM that you are military and have code CNL . I got quoted some great prices for the deluxes and am currently trying to decide where I want to stay. You can also try calling the shades of green. They are currently staying in the CR in the north wing. Depending on your rank, the rate can be as low as 66.00 a night. If they are full, ask them for overflow rates at other disney resorts.

The deal is a great one if you ask me! The discount actually goes through February of next year. It's 50% off rack rates...I got Poly GV concierge in December for $211, tax included! Another poster on these boards was able to get a good Poly rate for next February. I believe the code is "CNL." When I called CRO I didn't have the actual code at the time but the CM was able to find the dicount for me. Good luck!

Remember also that Shades of Green offers overflow rates at Disney resorts whenever they are full. Availability may be limited, but the overflow rates are year-round, not just a special offer.

I have a question re: military rates - thought maybe someone reading this thread could help me. My husband is in the process of signing on the the National Guard Reserve unit here in Ohio. He will likely be going to Basic this January. We are planning another trip for next year (Maybe May or Sept.) & was wondering about the Contemporary w/a military discount. What do I need to book a room w/the military discount? I was told SOG often books up quickly up to a year in advance. If he doesn't have a military ID until January, I didn't want to miss out on ressies for May. Does anybody have any info? Thanks in advance!

Everytime I have booked thru the SOG all I've had to do is give my husbands rank, branch of service , social security number, and status (active, guard etc..) Once we have gotten to the resort, then he's had to show his military ID. A one nights stay deposit is required, and you can put it on a charge or mail it in within 14 days.
I would book NOW for May, the CR is a great place to stay, especially for 66.00 a night! If you can't get in, remember to ask for overflow rates at other Disney hotels, or ask to be put on the wait list.
You can also go to SOG website under reservations and email them. They will email you back if rooms are available.

Hi, I am "the other poster" that chucknrita posted about! With the reply from them to an earlier post. I was able to come in one day earlier (12th) for my Feb. vacation and get the 50% off GV concierge for the whole 6 nites! We are paying $213. tax included! This is a great deal! Joan

Does anyone know who is eliglble to use this code? Is it only for active military personnel? DH is retired reserve and I was wondering if we qualify....

It's for active duty military only. The Disney reservations slip says "Must show active military id at check-in."

It is for ACTIVE DUTY or ACTIVATED RESERVISTS only. No reservists who are not deployed and no retired military for the special offer from Disney.
