When is the Vanity Fair issue supposed to hit stands?

I agree. It's so silly. You see far more at the local community pool. Guess all the horrified folks never take their kids swimming.

I don't understand how the controversy is supposedly going to boost sales. I mean, are people really going to buy a magazine to see the photos that they can already see for free plastered all over the net? But then again, I don't get why so many people pay for ...er... other .... er .... things that they can find plastered all over the net for free.

Really, the people complaining are the same people who's kids are wearing ill fitting, unlined bathingsuits at the pool all summer, exposing far more than Miley is. I feel bad for the kid.

What all the fuss is about – for me – is that she is a 15-YEAR-OLD girl being exploited as a sexual object by a snotty "art photographer" and a glossy New York City advertising circular masquerading as a magazine. What all the fuss is about – for me – is that her parents are allowing her to be exploited because this 15-YEAR-OLD girl is the family's chief breadwinner. What all the fuss is about – for me – is that she was packaged and sold as a TEEN star, and is now being repackaged as an ADULT – at the ripe old age of 15 – so she can continue bringing home the bacon. And what all the fuss is about – for me – is that a lot of young girls are going to say to themselves "If it's OK for Miley to gain people's attention by taking off her clothes, it must be all right for me, too." To the media world, she's not a teen actress, or a country singer; she's a pair of breasts with a head attached, and the they want to get the emphasis on the breasts where they believe it belongs. And when Miley gets too old (say 23 or 24), they'll find some new breasts to photograph.

I agree, I think her parents are more to blame than anyone. My DD is almost 15 and flame away, but there's no way DH and I would let her pose for a picture like that. I don't care that there were no breasts showing...IMO it was too seductive of an image for a CHILD to be posing for.

With that said, I really liked the one of her and her father together.
