Miley Cyrus celebrating b-day in CA Oct.5

Personally, if Disney wants to do special (stupid) stuff like this...they shouldn't do it during regular park hours. Especially not with less than 2 months notice. I'm sure this is going to mess up a lot of people's plans. Everyone (including all of the gay days participants) should call and complain.

Ugh...I can't believe ppl would want to spend a whole bunch of much money to go to someone's b-day. Especially hers! (as you can see, I'm definately NOT a fan) Plus, will she give party bags? I don't think so. :p And it's not like she'll even care who attends. I bet it'll be like, "Thank you fans, I love you. Goodnight." And Miley has left the building.

This is really a shame for people who have already planned their trips in advance. Since it is new news, it sounds like DVP probably isn't notifying people who book reservations. With it falling on a weekend, it will probably affect a lot of patrons who were planning weekend evening shows.

I have to thank Gay Days for me not scheduling our trip around this time.:cheer2: I try to avoid as many crowds as possible, so I plan our trips around any events I can. This is very unfortunate.

MC is a terrible role model these days too. I used to think she was one of the better ones, but she went downhill over the past several mos.

Not only that.... Her real birthday is not until November 23rd. Jumping the gun just a little eh? 50 days early in fact! :lmao:

So she's moved her party from WDW on the 3rd and DL on the 5th?

The MNSSHP on Oct 3rd was moved to the next night and her b-day was the speculation for the switch. Guess she decided to go with DL instead.

I think it is a little crazy to charge $250 for the party admission. I hope most if not all of it is going to a good charity at least!

Sorry for the people who will have to rework their plans:grouphug:

Oh come on!!!!!! :scared1: :scared1:
This is ridiculous... We've been planning this trip for months now and they're closing early for HER b'day bash?
Seriously?!?!?!?!?
Can't they do the bash OUTSIDE of DL? ....
People will still go regardless of the location.
So now disney would rather make people who already pay for the day's admission cut their day short (and make them buy PH) instead of using a different venue.
Is Disney really that greedy for publicity?
This is dumb... I can't understand the obsession with her or JB anyways...

Ugh... I'm getting worse and worse news every day this month.
First my basement seeping water and now this.

Oh well... Hopefully the gay day people love Miley too.

ps: I just sent an email through DL website to complain. I know it won't do much... but I feel a little better...

$ 250!!!!! Boy, There are so many other great bands that have proven themselves through the years that dont charge that much for a concert alone. Heck, It seems like she will only do a couple songs from the sound of the article.

They should have just held the party at DCA. It was scheduled to close at 8pm anyways. Maybe they didn't because the 5000 tickets that they are selling would have put DCA over capacity :lmao:

And I'd be willing to bet she can get a birthday button! :rotfl: (sorry, couldn't resist :goodvibes )

Was it ever confirmed this was the reason or was this just speculation?

My guess would be that Disneyland has a price to buy out the park for the night and $250/person works out right mathematically for however many people the Cyrus family wanted to be able to attend.

As for the good cause part, the article linked in a previous post said, "...the event will benefit a good cause, Youth Service America, which helps improve the lives of people ages 5 to 25."

well happy bday to her ill figuer it out and i am a Fan,just not gona pay 250 for it

tho i think the bashing isnt nice and should stop shes 16 for gods sake

Okay. I just got off the phone with vacation planning. They didn't know about it right away, they had to go ask. Here is the scoop.

Evidently, DL will close at 5:00 PM on Sunday October 5th. Only those with Miley tickets will be allowed to remain in or enter the park after 5.

DCA will extend their hours until 11:00 PM that night.

I have to say I am really bummed and ticked off right now. I was really looking forward to the fireworks show. I know there was a chance with winds that it may not have been, but at least I would have been in the park. This news changes our entire itinerary.

Good luck to the rest of you.

Funny, DL's website doesn't reflect those time changes. You'd think that if/when they schedule stuff like this, their website would reflect the changes immediately. Not good to have conflicting information out there. Shame on you, Disney!

I have to agree with Jade...

It does stink that everyone who paid a full price day ticket should be messed over (especially since they've just raised the prices.)

But to bash a sixteen year old girl...who proably didnt even make the choice herself...just doesnt seem very Disney to me.

The news of the Miley concert just showed up on the DL website today. Vacation Planning didn't even know what I was talking about until they saw it on their own website. I'm sure the schedule will be changed online when DL releases the entertainment schedule for October.

They always say everything, including parks hours, is subject to change.

Right now it says DL is open until midnight. Closing at 5pm is quite a difference, IMHO, especially with only 6 weeks notice. People plan their trips months, if not years, in advance, and to a lot of folks, this is a major trip where every dollar and every second counts. They count on at least the park hours being accurate a month or two out. They could have easily done this event at California Adventure, since they already close at 6pm several nights during the week. :confused3

As the parent of a Miley/Hannah obessed dd I would love to take her to event like this. The only problem would be getting her to understand why she did not get to meet Miley. For $500 (from a single mom's perspective) I would want my dd to have a chance to talk with her for a few minutes at least.

That being said we will not be going or trying to go. It is simply too expensive.

We can't all be rainbows and sunshine all the time. Personally, I think she's an awful role model for young girls. And I think Disney is pretty lame for putting this party on during normal park hours.

Amen....why are there so many haters?

Could I justify spending $250 on a ticket to attend this? No, not at all. Its outrageous and ridiculous...I dont care who's birthday party it is.

But the bashing? Claiming she is and never was a good role model? Thats just not right, theres worse out there....she is far from bad.

Someone had mentioned previously on the thread as to why not do it in DCA when it closes at 8. I think that would be best thing to do...or to close off a section of the park like toon-town or something. To close down the park for one individual and make countless numbers of people have to rearrange their itinerary and explain to their kids why they have to stay at the hotel and swim instead of watch the fireworks and enjoy the magic of the park does not make any sense.

I think I could fathom the idea a bit more if the price was a little bit more reasonable. Heck you could buy an deluxe A/P for almost the same price as you would pay to get tickets to her b-day bash for the evening. It's quite expensive and I can understand people's frustrations because there are so many people who do want to take their DD's but just can't seem to fork up enough money.

I am wondering a couple things as well. If the park closes at 5 to the general public, will the people with the $250.00 tickets have access to all of the rides and services offered or will it be limited things functioning? Will there be the shows or parades still that are usually scheduled for Sunday's or what will happen. Also, are the people purchasing the tickets aware of what exactly is to be expected. They are calling it a "celebration" so does that mean there will be a full setlist and a concert or just a couple songs or what? So confused  haha. I'll be there the week before (whew) but I definitely feel sorry for people that have to rearrange their schedule and have had their trips booked for a while.

I think when it comes down to it, I think whoever organized this thing whether it be D/L or someone in MC's party has just not organised and planned properly :) :) :)

Just my 2 cents!
