I didn't have my Disney Visa when I made our reservations so I didn't put our deposit on the card. I just read that I may not get the 6 months no interest on the balance of our trip because I didn't put the entire package on the card. Please tell me it ain't so! :scared1:

I haven't done any research, just thought I'd ask here first!

Call and explain the situation. Ask for a credit to the other card and for them to charge it to your Disney Visa?

Nope, the whole reservation needs to be made with the Disney Visa to get the 6 months interest free. If you do not pay the deposit with the Disney Visa, your payments do not get the 6 months interest free.

Unless your trip is within the next 45 days, I'd price it out again and see about making a new ressie using the Disney Visa for the down payment this time. Then cancel your existing ressie. They'll credit your payments back to your card without penalty (45 days+).

Unfortunately, you may be out of luck. The entire booking must be paid for on your Disney Visa in order to get the 6 months 0% interest. This information is listed in your "cardholder agreement".

If its any consolation they really dont give you a full six months of zero percent interest. Around the four month mark they start applying any payments to the promotional rate instead of any other outstanding balance. So if your using the card for a six month loan then make sure that you dont make any other purchases on it or youll begin racking up interest on those purchases. It didnt used to be that way. You can thank the governments new credit card regulations for that little gift.

I had booked my trip prior to the Disney Free dining announcement and had paid the deposit with another card. When free dining was announced I went back and rebooked with the Disney Visa and paid a second deposit. The balance was paid 45 days ago and has been interest free. I realize my situation is a little different because I rebooked but the original $200 was still applied to my balance. Maybe you could simply go back and pay a second deposit with your Disney Visa?

Not true, I paid the deposit with a non-disney card, then put the rest on my disney visa in installments as I had the cash (paid with disney visa, then sent visa the cash).

This last statement, I saw the payments and saw they were marked as I could have 6 months to pay them without interest.

I paid the deposit with my wells fargo cc and still got the 0% interest on the balance when I paid with my disney visa. If its changed why don't you just cancel the ressie and rebook.

I was about to say the same thing. I booked our last trip with my debit card and paid the trip off later with my Disney visa and we didn't have any interest either. Of course it was just for that one month. :confused3

This time, I booked it with my Disney visa to be on the safe side though. ;)

I just called today to open a Disney Visa after receiving a promo for a gift card. I already paid the deposit using my debit card. I specifically asked the lady if I could charge the balance of my vacation on the card and get the 0% interest for the 6 months if I already used my debit card to pay for my deposit and she said that, yes, I could do that. You shouldn't have a problem. :)

Thanks everyone for talking this out. I called and had my original deposit credited back to my debit card and had it put on my Disney Visa, at least that's what I thought. I got an email that I've made 2 $200 payments on my reservation. I will try and call soon to straighten it out.

Guess I will also ask about getting the whole reservation with 6 months no interest. :thumbsup2

Don't the new credit card laws prevent this from happening now? I thought it did but maybe I am wrong.
