Mike is the Best

Lovin' it EQ! So glad that you got to meet Prince Phillip....dang, he was hot!

You should post a note on her FB fan page. Part of the issue is of course she is a TV Star so the restaurant gets a lot of press and fans. very much like Paula Deen's place in Savanah. Lots of crowds do not mean good food. I am a bit disappointed to read the food is not so good, I was looking forward to some good Greek on a future trip. But maybe by the time I get there, it will have imoprovede food wize.

I too thought the menu seemed
D U L L. And I don't get it her food seems
so much more creative on FN.
Bring back spoodles!

I tried the sampler plate, thought it would be the best way to try things.....

Pastitso (Greek Lasagna) - served in a small soufle cup, all I could taste was cinnamon, literally!

Cinnamon Stewed Chicken - Oddly enough, I really didin't taste much cinnamon at all, and this was the one dish I actually liked.

Lamb Burger (I asked for Taziki sauce) I really was looking forward to this, as I love gyros. Biggest disappointment of the night! Stale bun, overcooked burger, really no flavor at all.

Her Spanakopita was pretty good, but at $7.99 a serving, and it was a small serving, I have taken to making my own at home! :thumbsup2

The service was OK, well not really......We were sitting next to the side station, and could easily reach the water pitcher with no effort at all. I had to refill my own water on more than one occasion. When I ordered coffee, the server placed a cup down in front of me and left. The coffee pot was right next to the water, so I served myself once again.....

The dining room really looked beat up. Not sure if the furniture was left over from Spoodles, but it looked really shabby!

Next time I'll take the boat across the lake and visit Ricardo!

:scared1:
If I went to a restaurant and had to pour my own coffee I would throw a fit!
One of my biggest pet peeves about eating out is bad coffee and/or bringing it too late.

I am not very charitable when it comes to bad service in a restaurant. Yachtsman, Flying Fish, and Citrico's are top notch for service in my experience. Most of our other WDW dining encounters have been fine - nothing AMAZING, but nothing bad, either.

We had a really bad character experience at 'Ohana. ONE character came to our table in the span of an HOUR, and the dining room was half empty. The handler asked if we saw ALL of the characters as we were paying the check, I told him NO, and then he proceeded to watch us get up and leave about 10 minutes later without saying another word to us. I almost wrote to WDW about that. There were also waitresses arguing in the middle of the dining room, which made for an interesting meal.

The only time I have asked for a manager was at Yachtsman, because I wanted to tell him how much we adore Ricardo. I have also written to him for that same reason. :)

The only CM who has been really ugly to me was at Soarin'. And she was SO rude that we ended up laughing about it later.

One of the concierge ladies at AKL kind of peeved me last year, but I didn't like her to begin with. I asked for an Uncrustable for DS prior to the time they normally serve them. She was MOST unhelpful. You know what? I can trot down to Mara or Zawadi and get an Uncrustable, but by the same token, this girl could have been a LITTLE accommodating!

I like the stuffed grape leaves at Kouzzina, but they were brought to me and I haven't dined in the restaurant yet.

The reviews/comments here seem to be in line with others I've read. I don't think it will be a place I go to soon.

(Day Three: Wednesday – Epcot)

This day was Brian’s birthday so he wanted to spend the whole day at Epcot (never a bad thing). This was the morning that I realized that with the curtains opened, I have been flashing and mooning the guests that have been going by on the monorail each morning and evening…. *blush* I got over it, and so it was off to the park with the big golf ball.

The photo words for the day were:

Past
The letter “X”
Adventure

I will admit that I had forgotten to charge my camera the night before so I was running dangerously low on battery power, and I knew I would want the camera to work for the birthday dinner. However I did take a few pics

Past: I took this as I wish I had seen the original “Journey into Imagination”

The letter “X”: I took these in the Soarin’ line

Adventure: I took right before “boarding”

Then we explored some of the Flower and Garden Festival:

For lunch we ate at Sunshine Seasons, and then headed off to World Showcase for shopping and world travel. We had dinner at Teppen Edo as that is where Brian wanted to eat, and for a surprise I ordered a cake for him to be delivered.

We were sooooooo full and bloated after this that was waddled out to watch Illuminations, and then back to the resort to crash

LOVING the pics!! What an amazing time you all had. And your prince? OMG, I KNOW you were on :cloud9:

So glad your trip was magical and a few dreams came true!!

Yeah I have the pic of the Prince as my wallpaper on my home computer :-)

(Day Four: Thursday – Animal Kingdom/Epcot)

We headed over to Animal Kingdom shortly after park open, and had a great time. Low wait times for Dinosaur and Everest. We got a fast pass for the Safari (which will factor in later). We saw Festival of the Lion King and had lunch at Flame Tree BBQ. I know a lot of people dislike this park but I actually enjoy it, and I was glad to be there for Earth Day.

The photo words for today were:

The last word was “Simple” and I will admit that I completely forgot to look for something.

Brian and I love to make faces on rides where they take your photo:

I love the Everest area of the park and I love to take photos of this area so please indulge me:

As the after noon progressed we planned to ride the Safari, then go change into our swimsuits (in the locker at the front of the park) then ride Kali River Rapids, use our Fast Passes for Everest (again), Tough to be a Bug, then head back to the resort for some pool time and then off to dinner…… well…. Plans changes

We used our fast pass for the Safari and all was going great till we got to the area around the flamingos and the big hidden Mickey. It was at this point that we had to stop and stop we did. Apparently a truck stalled out near the end of the ride and they were trying to get it off the road and we waited for over an hour. Luckily we had the following views:

It was fun for awhile as we got to watch some nature for a prolonged time. Then the heat and the boredom started to hit the kids. Which is understandable and they weren’t as bad as some of the parents that were starting to get upset and boldly and loudly stated that they wanted there money back. After awhile all the kids were quiet and then suddenly they all started crying at the same time and I just lost it and couldn’t stop laughing. One of the kids had to pee, and that conversation was great.

Dad: “Hey my son needs to pee, can he whiz off the truck?”
CM: “UM????? NO????? It would be a biohazard to the area”.
Dad: “What can I do?”
CM: “I have a cup he can use”

So the driver passes back the cup and the mom was helping the kid get ready to pee infront of all of us, when the driver said:

CM: “I just got word the problem is clear and we are ready to go”
Me: “and so is this kid”

When we got back to the unload area there were managers there with apologized, bottled water, and Fast Passes that we can use for any Animal Kingdom ride at any time for the next week.

Now that an hour was gone we altered our plans somewhat. We changed, rode Everest, then Kali. Headed back to the resort to change and get ready to take the Monorail to Epcot for dinner at Le Cellier.

Dinner at Le Cellier was a good as always. Chedder Cheese Soup, Pretzel Bread, Beer, Chicken dish, and Maple Crème Brule (mmmm so good, but sooo bad for my tummy).

After dinner we headed up to the Top of the World Lounge to thank our favorite Disney Bartender for the Princely Meet-n-Greet. Sadly the time with Mike was short as dinner was making it revenge on me. So we headed down to the room to watch Wishes so that I could be near the bathroom. (Hate IBS)

Loving the trip report!! The pictures are so well done!

Hope your tummy got better. :flower3:

Me - not so much :sad2: - way too little salacious details.
