We might not be able to arrive this Thursday for our reservation at CCV. However, I will not know until the morning of. Who do I call if we won't make it? Member services or the resort? Also, I already did online check in if that matters. TIA

I called Member Seevices when an airline cancelled our flight. I forget the details, but I was happy with the resolution.

I could be wrong -- but if you do online check-in, then I don't think it matters. Are you worried they'll give your room away or something?

This brings up an interesting even broader question, at least in my mind. Aside from hoping to get points back, which probably isn't probable or reasonable anyway, what would be the purpose of letting them know anymore? I know we used to worry about the room being given away in the past, and as I understood it, they could if you didn't check-in at the desk on check-in day. Now, most of us (probably I think) check-in online and just wait for an email or a text and go straight to our rooms. I could envision an entire week where we never even showed up and our room just sat there unoccupied. Is that feasible? Is that what would happen these days given the way we do things now?

I would call Member Services and let them know. Just for peace of mind at the least.

I assumed they have a way of knowing whether you have used your magic band to open your door. When I got 3 texts with 3 different villa numbers while I was in the air a couple of years ago I assumed they knew they could change my villa because I had not yet arrived.
I’d call if I wasn’t going to be getting there until the second day, in fact, I’d probably call MS and the resort number - but I’m a bit OCD about things like that.

I would make sure to call the resort itself. If you are more than one day late, call each day. It happened to me in the past - our flight was postponed for three days due to hurricane Arthur. I was advised to call daily just to make sure I kept my reservation. Had to forfeit the points for those days unfortunately.

I would make sure to call the resort itself.

If only that were possible.

OP you could always update your online checkin to show you’re arriving at 5am the next calendar morning (but before they switch over on hotel time) if it’s a delay like that.

I’d call MS and even try the main Disney number if it was overnight.

Hmm you are right, in my case I was heading to Hilton Head, and at least at the time you could call the front desk!

I was at SSR earlier this week. I also have an RCI exchange in to SSR in a couple of months which has a Friday check-in, but we
don't actually arrive until Sunday. I asked at the front desk if on-line check-in would prevent them from giving our room away, if we arrive 2 days later. I was told that it should, but she gave me a phone # to call and let them know also. I think the on-line check in alone should work, but maybe not always. I'll do both just to make sure.
