Might not be a replacement for Voices of Liberty

We went to Epcot yesterday (3/19) to just wander around a bit. While back at the American Adventure we found we had arrived in time to catch the show. I recall there has been some discussion/rumor/furor that Voices of Liberty would be leaving.

It seems as though that's true as when we were there there was a group called IIRC "High Pockets". They are a 4-piece ensemble (woodwinds, guitar, bass and drums) who's repertoire is jazz. The audience throughly enjoyed the sets.

I thought it was an interesting, sensical choice for this venue since jazz is a distinctly American music form.

No! Say it ain't so! I do love jazz, but Voices of Liberty (especially in the rotunda) always sends chills down my spine.

Voices of Liberty is listed as performing during the weekend on Steve Soares site along with High Pockets Monday-Thursday. VOC leaving is not something we even joke about lol

They better not replace Voices of Liberty. American Adventure is my favorite attraction in all of Disney World and VoL is definitely part of the reason. I could sit and listen to them all day (well, okay, if I was going to be there all day I'd need a comfy chair, not a tile floor, but you get the idea).

If they go, Disney will definitely be hearing from me.

I really enjoy the Voices of Liberty.

I was visiting EPCOT during Presidents week 2012 on the last day of their concerts. The video quality was average, because I hand-held my DSLR with a 200MM telephone and no tripod, but the sound quality is great. I was not prepared to shoot video that day . . .

You have to check to see if you have a pulse rate if your not moved by these incredible voices and harmonies . . . The sound is very intense at the American Gardens . . . I am a hardened New Yorker and this concert really got to me . . . . so much for trying to keep my camera steady.

This is really disappointing news. The addition of a jazz ensemble sounds like a wonderful idea, but not at the cost of losing Voices of Liberty.:sad2:

So it appears the reason the VOC was not performing when the op was there is because they were not scheduled. Does anyone have anything to show they are leaving for good?

We were there last week and saw them (Voices of Liberty) March 13th. They were great as usual.

Voices of Liberty are scheduled for this week according to Steve Soares site*. Perhaps this thread should be moved to "Rumors" or atleast have the title changed?

*Sunday & Wednesday-Saturday at 12:30, 1:15, 2:00, 2:45, 3:30, 4:15 & 5:00pm

I've changed the title. If the Mod's feel this is best moved to the rumor board that's fine with me.
