Might have to cancel - experiences

Our vow renewal is set for September 15th and due to illness in our family we might have to cancel. Has anyone had any experience with canceling? I know disney's policy is written notice 30 days out?

ive not had any experience but from what ive heard disney are pretty good. If you give them a ring they may give you the option to move to a later date?
