I run a small scale shop, sourcing and modding games consoles, bundles, DVDs and so on. I decided to compare prices with a popular site and was SHOCKED at what I found.

This rival shop charged $745 for a video game bundle, a big lot so it seemed fair. I did some digging around and came up with the same bundle for... $469.

That's a saving of $276!

Some people really try and diddle you. No doubt their marked is vulnerable old people desperate to please grand children...

It’s the convenience factor. You can dig yourself and make the bundle for less or let someone else do all the digging and pay for the bundle and their time. I’m the type that would do it myself but not everyone would.

It really depends. How much work did you have to do to come up with the same bundle? Time is money. Now, I'm the type who would put in extra work to save money, but others are happy with just paying what it takes. And if someone is willing to pay, then it's a valid price.

What you say is very true, but we're talking about the thick end of $300! That territory preys on elderly relative trying to pander to the tastes of game eager kids It's kinda harsh really.

To some people, who don't know what they're looking for or where to look for it, paying the extra is worth it to them. So be it.

I'd be a hypocrite to disagree with you, not least because that's exactly what I do for my shop! For a small finder's fee, I'll hunt down exactly what the customer wants for the best price at the best quality... if the buyer doesn't have the time or the know-how, I can be useful. What I don't want to do though is take the micky and over-charge for my finder's fee!
