Now thinking of making it 2 nights on Waikiki before heading to Aulani.

Thoughts?

Also, Hilton Hawaiian Village or Marriott Waikiki for walking location, restaurants, etc.?

My husband is Platinum in Marriott so we will get some perks there.

Thank you!

I'd pick the Marriott Waikiki - it's closer to Waikiki beach than the Hilton. Much more to walk to. Our favorite hotel in Waikiki is the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach - it's the perfect location (right in the middle of everything) and it's reasonably priced...plus Dukes is right downstairs!

Thanks! Trying to use points so it needs to be a marriott or hilton. Did the embassy suites by hilton, last time we were there.

Just trying to get some sights in so we don't have to travel as far and as often from Aulani.

I would! We did fhis in June stayed 3 nights at the Courtyard than headed to Aulani for 5 and it worked great. We got married, did touristy stuff than was able to relax. The Courtyard is a few blocks from the beach but still a good location.

Another thing once you get to Aulani you won't want to leave. Going back to Waikiki is a drive and you can get into some traffic. We went to Pearl Harbor while at Waikiki than to the North Shore and Kualoa Ranch while at Aulani. If your looking for a luau Paradise Cove is in walking distance from Aulani and Roy's and Monkeypod across the street. On your way to Aulani you can stop at Costco or Target. It's a good way to budget your time too because it will go fast:(

We would have 5 nights at Aulani as well. Was that enough??

So the North Shore driving day is easier from Aulani.

What about where you see the turtles and snorkel? I think 1/2 of us are doing Diamond Head hike, that's easier from Waikiki. I think Shrimp Trucks and Malasada's too??

North Shore seemed easier from Aulani, we passed up the Dole Pineapple Plantation and there are shrimp trucks so definately do that for a inexpensive lunch. We didn't hike Diamond Head :( but I believe it is closer to Waikiki.

There's never enough time in Hawaii and there were a few things like Diamond Head we didn't do. Aulani is a vacation itself, we rented a cabana and enjoyed a day at the spa which I highly recommend. For dining besides across the street the two Marriotts on each side have some options.

Can't decide. On two nights Waikiki and 5 Aulani or 7 at Aulani.

Also, read some so/so reviews on Marriott Waikiki.

Is hhv that much more out if the way?

Thank you!
