Might Disney extend MSEP?

I was so bummed when I found out that MSEP would be ending just when the summer season is starting. I was really hoping to see the parade come down Main St., its proper home!! What do you think the chances of an extension are? Any precedent for that? I'm thinking chances are very slim. And I'm wondering what they have planned to replace it.

Until they tell us what the plans are for the PTN floats (not expecting this) no one knows. The last time MSEP was in DCA, it was supposedly shipped to be rehabbed. If it's just here for a rehab, followed by a fill-in engagement while PTN is rehabbed, then there's very little chance. If PTN is going elsewhere, there's a better chance. I suppose the status of Fantasmic is also a factor, which we also won't know, since ROA has a vague "summer 2017" potential reopening day.

I have heard, though totally unofficially, that PtN will be back in the summer and during other peak times. So, if that happens, my guess is either (1) that they truly retire this parade, or (2) that it will become the "off season" parade as it is a bit less expensive to operate than PtN. All I know for sure is that the announcement of its brief return was enough to make by get APs. I can never get enough of it no matter how dated it is.
