Might be switching from WDW to DL in March due to airfare!

So I have been looking for airfare to MCO from YUL and NY/VT since September and bad times and connections are $1,600 for 4 (either Canada or US) and non-stop ranges from $2,200 to $10,000 (not first class and Canada is $4,000 and up even for transat)

The kicker is that we have one AP for WDW, pre-paid one day tickets legoland, and a DVC rental at VB. So I am looking into switching my DVC rental and then will look into if we can use the FL legoland tickets for CA legoland.

Then we can use RBC points for non-stop airfare and fly for free since the flights to FL are priced above the $750/ticket, but CA is not!

So, might be mixing it up, but still partying with the Mouse.

March 3/4/5 and March 17/18... YUL, BTV, PBG can do MCO, MLB, PBI, sanford, or Lakeland.

Absolute cheapest is YUL to MCO with return out of MLB (fine since we will be at VB) and is $1,570, but very early or late flights (means both kids will throw-up).

We would just pay the $1,570 if it was decent times and the RBC points top out at $750/ticket value.

I have been looking everyday since September. Direct air had a deal at one time, but the return was like 6:30 am and those flights are even long gone by now. If Allegient out of Plattsburgh if the fares drop. However, we get free parking at Montreal (are Diplomats) and it is like 20 minutes away so it takes a savings of more than $500 for us to fly out of the US since we also get to take the shorter customs lines at the airport, but on in the car.

Very complicated and rather picky, I know. What gets me is that we have flown out of YUL to MCO at these times for the past 3 years and have not spent more than $325 per ticket, usually non-stop flights.

So as of right now our best option is Allegiant from Plattsburgh, NY to Sanford since the RBC points will cover all but $164 plus bag fees. Still have the drives, rental cars, and parking but the times are good and the flights are non-stop so we are back on for FL pending a calamity.

Think the preferred flight dates and times cost of $10,000 sent me into shock for a bit!

If you are planning a second trip to Florida within 12 months (Christmas would be best value) of ticket purchase date you could consider AC Flight Passes. From YUL it's about $4200 for two sets and you will get direct flights.

This was almost our strategy with YYZ flights over $3500 but DW did not want to commit to another Florida vacation (even with the second flight only costing $700). Now we're driving 3+ hours to Rochester for $1860 flight.

Thanks that is a great tip on AC, we might try that next time. And sorry about the drive...

We decided on the RBC points out of Montreal and ended up with WestJet non-stop flights and even though we owed a bit over the $750 per ticket allotted, we will not owe for bag fees and they are non-stop. So pretty good all around!
