Midway Airport Parking Garages....

Little help?

Never parked at an airport before, but next month I'll be parking my car at Midway Airport in Chicago, IL for my Disney trip (flying SW, and it's the closest airport around!). Can anyone give any recommendations from personal experience?

We fly regularly out of Midway heading to WDW and always use the parking garage. For the $14/day, we find it very easy but out trips are usually 3 day. The entrance is off of 55th and follow the signs to the garage. The shuttle bus picks up between the two heated waiting areas. The shuttle drivers have always been very helpful and, sometimes, help load the luggage (but not often). The shuttle drives a back road to the airport so we've never had an issue with traffic backups going to the terminal. The drop off (and pick up) is on the lower level (arrivals) and you go inside and pass the luggage carousels to two escalors to take you to the baggage check. SWA baggage is at the far north end of the check in terminal.

Coming home, you need to return to the lower level to get your baggage and then exit and head to the north end of the terminal. The bus is marked "economy garage" which is confusing. We have had bus drivers with other routes take us to the garage a few times, tho, just for asking.

Thanks for the replies; I'm seeing several "$10 a day" or even "$9 a day" parking garages (if you reserve it early), and I'm trying to go as cheap as possible without putting myself in a bad situation.

I'll be gone for 7 days; still looking into it.

Just did the $9/day in April for the first time and it worked perfectly. Quick parking, quick shuttle. No problems. We booked ahead for savings.

We always use Midway Park Saver. If you request a coupon online to print it is cheaper than all the Midway garages. It is located across the street from the CTA/orange line stop. You just park and walk across the street to enter Midway.

Another vote for Midway Park, Ride and Fly. We have used them many times. The lot is secure and the drivers pick you up and drop you off right at your vehicle. It is much better than parking in the airport economy lot and having to lug your bags to the bus.
