Midnight in the Garden of Good........and a little Evil.

Hollywood Studios or the artist formally known as MGM Disney, a Division of the Disney Corporation brought to you by the Disney Channel where you can catch…….ah heck, we were at the place with the big hat for Day 2.

I mentioned 7:30 wakeup call time and the family looked at me like I was crazy. DS8 said what everyone was thinking……..”Dad… that just is not going to work for me.” :rotfl: :rotfl:

So 7:30 stretched to after 9 and we made HS around 10:30. By then the place was packed….I mean really packed. Star Wars Weekend was in full swing and the main arteries were clogged. We grabbed a few pastries right as cart was closing and made it inside.

We immediately ran over to RnR and grabbed 5 fast passes and met up on the main street where the Star Wars Parade was preparing to start. DS 8 loves all things Star Wars and went crazy watching all the characters. I must admit it was an impressive site.

After the parade we grabbed lunch and for the first time we had no plan and of course everyone wanted different foods. Finally Daddy the mean evil dictator made the decision and grabbed sandwiches over on Sunset.

We decided to once again split up as DD wanted to see the Mermaid show and Playhouse Disney and the boys were not having that. By now our FP window was open again and we grabbed 5 more RnR FP giving us 10 FP total. We headed over to the Tower where the wait was only 20 minutes and got in line.

Here DS12 showed me once again he was growing up. There was this incredibly hot twenty year old girl in front of us and DS was not being subtle about it. She was gorgeous, so much so she made your teeth hurt. Just an amazing beautiful young lady. She had a small tattoo on her shoulder which was obviously brand new. I guess out of pity or she thought a 12 year kid ogling her was cute she said hello to DS12. He stammered a bit and then actually made a coherent sentence. More than I could have done at 12. I asked her about the Tattoo and she replied that she had gotten it the night before.

The Tattoo was written in Latin and for the life of me I cannot remember what the exact words were; but it was something along the lines of AMORE EIS DOLCE.

DS 12 asked her what it meant and she said it was Latin for “A lady as sweet as life “or life is sweet or something like that. It was a small and relatively tasteful tattoo on her shoulder. Again she was so hot it really did not matter. Oh Did I mention she was beautiful.:worship:

DS12 is in his 7th year of Spanish classes and is fairly good with his vocabulary so he tried to translate using his knowledge of Spanish. He asked her with a straight face…..could it not also mean “I would love to have you for Dessert”. Told you he was the dumbest smart kid in the world.

I looked at the sky trying not to laugh, she laughed a little, her friend lost total control, and almost fell down, her boyfriend was making eyes at her concerning possible later events I guess. I said he is only 12 and does not know what he really just said. They were good sports about it all. I swear for the rest of the line she flirted with the 12 year old, touching his arm, laughing with him and kind of hanging on him a little and of course he acted just like you would expect 12 year old to act around a beautiful girl….silly.

:rotfl2:

The tower was amazing. I loved the theme and actually liked standing in the line, the décor, the cast mates, the story and the build up was more fun than the ride. As we were leaving the attraction, we stopped to make sure we had everything and to decide where we wanted to go next.

A guy walked up to us and said he had 3 FP for Tower but his family had decided not to ride and wanted to know if we would like them. The boys went crazy and thanked him and actually shook his hand without prompting. They are incredibly well mannered for 12 and 8. We rode the Tower a 2nd time (no hot chicks this time) and then headed back to meet the girls.

Part 2 coming later this week......

I love this! I can't believe you guys got 3 bathrooms. Way to go! And I thought we were good at earning Disney reward points! :lmao:

The room was amazing and the extras space very nice. When the kids got annoying to each other we simply put them in a separate room with a separate TV and let everyone enjoy their space.

At night or in the morning, the extra baths helped us get things moving a little faster.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: "I would love to have you for dessert". I don't think he's dumb at all, I think he's very smart & sassy. You better watch out for that one, he sounds like a Don Juan in training.

I love teenagers! Really, I have enjoyed my twin nephews do some of the funniest dumb things around girls!:lmao:

Wish I had read over the weekend....wnet to Atlanta to watch the Braves lose.....again.

Anyway, it you are still there, try the following restaurants.
Mustard Seed
Waters Edge - right on Shem Creek, water side dining
Mimi Diner - James Island
Slightly North of Broad - Downtown
Carolines - Downtown

Can't go wrong at any of them.

I second that Caroline's suggestion, also love 82 Queen
and in Savannah Elizabeth's on 37th(or is it 34th) is our favorite.

Loving the TR so far, and :cool1: for you on the room upgrde AND getting points back.

Sorry for the delay but the real world has been keeping on the road travelling the past few weeks.

We did manage a work /vacation to the North Carolina Outer Banks......that means I worked and the rest of the family vacationed.:rotfl2:

On to the TR....

Sunday Night was an EMH at MK and the park was open until 2AM. The wife and DD said no and surprisingly DS12 also said he was tired and wanted to go back to the hotel.

But Hunter was ecstatic. Not only was he going to the MK for EMH, he now had his Dad one on one by himself with no brothers or sisters. He grabbed my hand and off we went to the MK. He talked nonstop and asked a million questions. He was so excited he could not stand it.

Starting a little before 10PM, we waited for a bus to the MK from HS but one never came. Finally we saw a bus to the Contemporary. We grabbed the bus and then the monorail to the MK and walked in right as Spectro 2 was ending. We quickly made it over to SpMo which once again was his first choice.

They had just reopened the FP machines as we walked up. The first tix worked but after that the machine stopped. The CM asked how many tix we had and I held up all 5 since I was still carrying the entire family’s tickets. He gave me 5 FP for Space giving us 6 total all with a return time of 12 MIDNIGHT.

For the next 45 minutes we rode the Indy Cars, Buzz, the People Mover and Astro Blaster. I was amazed at the number of kids there. Screaming kids, it reminded me of Chuckee Cheeses on a Saturday afternoon. One kid in front of us at Buzz was begging to go home. Please Mommy I am so tired. let’s go to sleep…..pleassssssssssssssssse let me go to bed. The parents just ignored him. Got to get every nickel out the vacation regardless if the curtain climbers are miserable.

Anywho Hunter and I were on Buzz and he wanted to beat me so bad after losing both times on TSM at HS. I purposely was trying to lose and watched our scores carefully to make sure I was behind him but not to make it obvious. He was at around 22,000 and I had 14,000 in the last room. Then somehow (I was not even paying attention) I hit a 100,000 target and beat him.

He was devastated. I explained to him it was just luck…..no dice. Then I said it was a malfunction….he was not buying it. He looked headed to meltdown and that meant our EMH was over and it was time to head back to the Swan.

Then a CM noticed and asked what was going on. Hunter explained in broken sobs. The CM said there was a contest in our car and whoever had the lead after the 2nd set of targets won a prize. Hunter said he had the lead then. The CM reached into his bag and pulled out a Million Dreams Pin and gave it to Hunter. Complete 180….everything in the world was right again and the Disney Magic was back. Everything was perfect and smiles were on his face from ear to ear. This is what makes Disney the best customer service organization in the world. The little touches that saved EMH for us. I thanked the CM a million times for changing Hunter’s outlook. Amazing how the CM knows exactly what to do.

We left and still had 5 minutes to our first FP for Space.

We grabbed a coke and sat down for a minute to rest and wait. Now I am going to make you cry…………..promise.

There was a little 5 year old boy walking right in front of us and he fell down hard, very hard….. busted lips, bleeding knees, the whole 9 yards. Hunter immediately went over before his Mother even made there and was checking on him and put his arm around the little boy to make sure he was OK………then without a second of thought, he undid the pin that was just given to him, took it off the lanyard and gave it to the boy placing it on his shirt collar all by himself.:wizard: :wizard:

I sat there amazed and the mother just watched. She insisted on returning it to Hunter saying her son was going to be all right as soon as they got a band aid. Hunter said no way, it was a magic pin and would cure all the boo boos. They thanked us over and over and headed to the exit.

I was speechless. I told Hunt that what he did was incredible and asked him why. He said I felt bad and someone gave me the pin to help me feel better. The little boy was hurt and felt bad so I thought if I gave him the pin he would feel better. It worked. Amazing, amazing little boy, excuse me amazing big boy I have there.

The night was magical from then on…..we did Space 3 times using all 6 FPs. We rode the Tea Cups, Peter, skipped by the Haunted Mansion and rode Thunder twice as 2AM approached. He was so tired but so excited to be with Dad that he would not even admit it. We bought ice cream on the way out and grabbed the monorail at 2:20 AM back to the TTC.

There was no one there….no tram, no CM, no buses. Uh…oh. Yeah I know, I know, we should have taken the bus back at the MK but I missed it and now we are in a deserted TTC at 2AM. I look over and see a bus that says Studios and ask the driver how to get back to the Swan. He says hop on and drove us back to the Swan nonstop. Super nice guy from Brooklyn that my son enjoyed listening to with his accent. Furgettaboutit:cool2: is all he said when we thanked him as we got off at the Swan.

It was 3AM as we hit the room. Hunter was asleep before I even pulled the covers up, DW woke up and I told her about the pin. She had a tear in her eye. You will never forget tonight she said. He will be married with children of his own and you always remember tonight. She is 100% correct.

Next: 29 hours at the park in 2 days ??? How long can we keep up the pace ???

Wow, what a story and what an incredible thing that Hunter did.

:goodvibes oooh....what a wonderful thing your son did. I know you were so proud of him to show such compassion for another child who was hurt.

Yup you did it. There goes my mascara. I feel your pride, what a terrific kid.
