We also got a hotel discount directly from Universal for $180 per night for Portofino Bay. Walk or boat to the parks plus unlimited front-of-the-line access.

We decided to try it after we realized how much the Disney prices have gone up.
The Universal trip was $2185 ($2699 w/no discounts)
A comparable Disney trip is $5323
