I am wondering if anyone has photos or a lay out diagram of the Mid Ship Cat 3 staterooms??

My Brother, SIL and their girls just got back from their DCL cruise and stayed in a category 3 mid ship. I will see if I can get some digital photo's from him after the 4th. They said it was great. Have a good time!

I don't have a digital camera nor a diagram. Just my memory :hyper:

Our first DCL cruise we were a Cat 3 Aft. We rebooked on that cruise and the DCL rep recommended mid ship Cat 3. All she said then was "it is beautiful, much wider and you will love it!"

When I transfered my ressie over to Dreams Unlimited, the travel agent had stayed in that very same suite. She just raved about it. "No comparison to the other Cat 3 suites."

So while waiting to board I knew we where next to the Walt Suite or Roy Suite, and looking up from the port I just thought no way - there were 3 sliding doors to the varandah. Other Cat 3s have two. They said it was bigger but a whole sliding door section bigger? I didn't tell anyone else in my party because I'm sure I was mistaken.

When we saw our room - I'll be honest - I was pissed off at my first travel agent for not knowing about the differences between these Cat 3s! I just picked any old week and she could have told me when this Cat3 was available. But I got over it very quick! :Pinkbounc

Differences:

1. The pull down bed is not in the bedroom. It is in the living room. When it is not pulled down that living room is huge! It is so spacious! Like six lil 5 year olds can play duck duck goose and not hit anything. The other Cat 3 was slimmer and longer and the pull down bed comes down in the bed room and you cannot access that verandah! You have to climb over the bed.

2. When the pull down bed is down - there is so much room to walk around, by the dining table and you don't even get close to the fold out couch. More knooks in the hallways to store - it's just gorgeous.

3. Three sliding doors where great. If the couch was pulled out, you can get to the varanda by the dining table. It was so easy to go to the varandah from the bed room that was so spacious. When the three sets of curtains are open it is a wonderful view from room to room. The walk in closet is bigger.

4. We never had clutter. There are so many drawers, cupboards, cabinets, two closets - two bathrooms, two T.V. (with 2 boys and a girl - that's a life saver) and a tub.

I don't know what port side is - but the Midship Cat 3 on the other side - not the port side when the ship is docked at Port Canaveral = that one is better. The other midship Cat 3 /Aft is right under the ping pong tables.

Have a great cruise, pm me if you want me to send pictures. I'm old school  :earseek:

yes, the midship cat 3 staterooms are amazing...i can't believe they charge the same amount of money...
the stateroom numbers to ask for are: 8032, 8034, 8532, 8534...

we were in 8534 and it was heavenly...
i also like that side of the ship....unfortunately, this time we'll be on the other side...but i'm sure the room will be amazing (the walt disney suite..:Pinkbounc )

What size is the pull down bed and couch?

Thanks

I am in complete agreement with PizzieDuster the mid-ship rooms are awesome. We booked a Cat. 3 also w/out knowing the difference and the Concierge ladies told us we should see the other Cat. 3 rooms before we leave. They told us to look at then on are way out the morning we left and we couldn't believe the differece. Never again will we stay in a Cat 3 unless its midship!
