Anyone gone to Disney Mid-November before?

I have tentatively booked a SURPRISE trip for Next NOV and just wondering what I can expect?

We have always traveled to Disney in August as that just seems to be the time that best works for us! Despite the Heat and some BUSY days we still always enjoy ourselves.

Now I decided to change it up and experience a little bit of the Disney Christmas Magic and go in NOV!

I would have loved to plan this trip closer to Christmas but the way the dollar is I don't want to pay a even higher premium at Disney AND for flights PLUS I'm not a huge fan of flying (though I've done it about 20 times now) and I want to AVOID snow here in Toronto when flying ... so I figure good chance it can be avoided mid November with the way winter has been the last few years! And lastly with a 2 week Christmas break for my Daughter at school over Christmas I figure this would be an okay time to take her out as it would allow her to go back for 2-3 weeks before the break.

I have read all the sites and the crowds look to be a bit lower and the temperature seems to be about 25°C give or take ... so is that RIGHT? those are my biggest questions really .. not the deciding factors but it sure would be nice to know that the temperature is a bit more comfortable and the crowds are a bit less and its always nicer to hear it from someone directly rather then read about it!

So id love for anyone who's been or JUST BEEN this past year to share your experiences with me!

Thank You!

We did a pre-US Thanksgiving stay last year and will be doing another Nov 2016 (just booked our pre-cruise stay this week for next November).

Expect a lot nicer temps and few if any late day thunderstorms, a lot fewer crowds (as long as not immediately around the Thanksgiving holiday and remember even non-crowded periods are still busy...just not as busy or with cap closures), and the start of seeing the resorts decorated for the holidays. Stop by the Grand Floridian to see the gingerbread house, you'll be able to get your picture taken by any of the resort Christmas trees by Disney photographers (we had them do with our own camera as well and those pictures actually turned out better).

We found last year airfares leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday week were the cheapest we'd seen in a while and our car rental was the same. We did August this year (b/c of school timing with one) and it was stinking hot, rained virtually every afternoon and the park crowds were unreal (until the rain).

I went last mid-Nov 2014. It was pretty cold but that was very unusual. It was nice to see the Christmas decorations. It was busier than I thought it would be but only one day was it really busy.

Thank you for your feed back! :) Exactly what I was looking to hear.

By the end of this month our travel dates will become available on westjet, I always book sooner rather than later as I tend to believe there is not many deals from Toronto to Orlando EVER!
Did you book right away and get a good price or was it more of a last min later type deal?

Again I've traveled to Florida about 15 times now and every time the plane was sold out but it was always JUNE JULY or AUG trips, thus no deals .... where as my first flight ever was to Las Vegas through Air Canada it was a much longer flight a lot cheaper and maybe half full! :crazy2:

We booked I believe in June. It definitely was not right away as we waited until JetBlue released their flights and was not impressed with the cost and they flipped the North/South times (used to get early morning down and later back and they reversed on their fall schedule) and nowhere near last minute. Watched the prices and think we ended up just north of $400 CDN with a WestJet flight with great flight times, as figured with the stay over in Buffalo and exchange, was as cheap as a US flight.

Just over $400 is pretty good! I've always found in and around $500 to be the best I can see and find to MCO from YYZ .. no matter the carrier! But then again thats always the summer months!

Lets see what next Nov turns up for me .... though I will probably wait till April to book my flights! Going to wait and see if they roll our Room discounts or Free Dining etc... might play a factor on our travel dates :)

Discount airlines, booking early always seems best IMO (in May we are flying Spirit - hold the sigh as we have flown before without issue and have no issue with as you get what you pay for - for $77 pp USD for direct round trip). For the rest, a short window seat sale, their seats not filling quick enough, or some other unknown reason that no one seems to be able to predict, prices seem to go up, down, up up up and then down without reason. I'll set a price watch and see the prices go up or down to decide if flying an option or decide to drive (if time allows) and wait out for a potential cheap (and from a Canadian airport that is a relative term) flight.

This past August we flew out of Detroit for (think) $138 USD return (flying back Saturday the Labour Day long weekend) and a week later, flew from Toronto for $464 CDN WestJet as prices drop that week after Labour Day. The summer months (especially around the short weeks) I've never lucked out with a great price out of Toronto and have flown from elsewhere or driven.
