Mid February what do YOU wear to the parks?

I understand the "average" high is 73 and the "average" low is 51 and that those temps can vary vastly in comparison to the rather predictable temps of say July.
I have heard though that February tends to lean towards lower highs and lower lows.
Honestly it would be fantastic if I could wear pants and a jacket from the time I get up to the time I go to bed vs having to take it off mid day like I have in the past in November/December.
But like I said I understand fully that it can definitely be on the warmer side and that I truly won't know what type of clothing I should be bringing until I can see the forecast for those days.
Just wondering what everyone else tends to wear in February to get an idea of what I'm working with especially since I want to purchase a Mardi Gras shirt and a Valentine's Day shirt and I'm not sure if I should go with short sleeves and have a jacket to take off or if I should go with long sleeves that can be rolled up and hope it won't get too hot or too cold.

As you already said, we check the local Orlando weather prediction before we go, and then pack accordingly. We live 1 1/2 hours from WDW and don’t know what to expect, unless it’s summer.

We went last year, the first week of February, and it was in the 80’s the entire time we were there, and the day we left, the temperatures dipped dramatically.

Be prepared for any kind of weather. We've been there in February when it was in the low to mid 50's on some days, and the mid to high 80's on others. It's totally unpredictable for that time of year.

We went in mid February this year. I wore jeans or capris and t shirt with a light jacket or sweatshirt. That got me through most days. We had a couple days it was warmer and I didn't need the jacket or sweatshirt. Evenings, especially taking the boat from MK to WL, could get a bit brisk.

One word - layers.

While I love going in Feb, I find packing for a Feb trip annoying since I have to take DOUBLE the amount of clothes I would during warm weather months. I’ll usually bring a bit of everything.... shorts, jeans, jackets, fleeces, vests, short sleeve shirts, long sleeve shirts - pretty much everything! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I find that often the temperature can drop like a rock once the sun goes down, so while I’m fine in shorts/t-shirt during the day, in the evening I’ll need a big jacket.

It’s so hard to predict though. We did the Disney After Hours event 2/16 this year (8pm-11pm) and it was so darn cold (50) we were buying sweatshirts at the gift shops because we were unprepared. The next day we were in the Poly pool at noon. Go figure.

Layer, layer layer. Shorts and t-shirt in the day, sweatshirt and sweatpants at night. After dark it can get CHILLY.

So we are going late Feb. I purchased (got a little obsessed) Lula Roe Disney legging and a Disney skirt and 2 Disney short sleeve shirts from them. I'll have sandals and sneakers. We also have 2 Disney Princess jackets that are fleece lined from back in the 90's when we lived in Southern California so went to Disneyland multiple times each year. Bottom line is comfy Disney for me this trip!

See I'm a RD to park close kind of girl and don't rent a locker or bring a backpack so I am unwilling to bring multiple clothing items into the parks or leave and come back.
I guess I should go with capris or pants and not bother bringing shorts even if the weather calls for 80's since it seems like morning and evening will be cold enough for pants.
Maybe I should also do the short sleeve shirt and a jacket instead of the long sleeve and no jacket.
Thanks guys your posts have definitely made my decisions a bit easier to see.

All of these responses have been great. The challenge is to fit all the layers into your luggage if you are flying!

A few years ago we went in late January and it was quite chilly. I hate layers or wearing jackets because you end up getting warm during the day and I hate carrying them. After a couple days of toughing it, I broke down and wore a sweatshirt. Was just too cool to get through the day in jeans/tshirt.

Last February we went and we were in shorts/tshirts most the time. I think maybe a couple times we wore a sweatshirt, but didn't need it for the most part. Just the evening. We toughed it out in the morning because it was warm.

At that time of year I always bring a cheap pair of knitted gloves and headband (for my ears) from Target. Not super thick but they really help keep me warm in the early am and the late pm, especially if it is breezy.

I am normally a “no bag” person as well, except when I’ve been in Feb - that’s my one exception because I usually need somewhere to store a shedded or added layer. Usually the trade off is slightly lower crowds and lower bag check lines! :-)

I also try to bring jackets and layers that I can tie around my waist in a pinch. To date that has not worked so well with the kiddos though.

I live in Florida and only own shorts and tshirts. But seriously, I dislike having to carry stuff around in the park because you are usually walking a lot so I don't like to bring extra layers since I don't feel it is that necessary but every one is different.

I bring a bag but its a smallish crossbody that wouldn't fit clothing.
I've lost weight and tend to be chilly now even in the 70's so I feel like even if the high is 80 it won't really be too hot for me especially thinking about the fact that the temp will probably only be that high for a short period of time.
A light jacket around my waist wouldn't be too bad so I guess I'll go with that.

We were there the Feb 14th-20th of this year. The 14th was the warmest day by far, high near 80. It was the only day warm enough to swim. During the day I wore shorts and a long sleeve shirt, at night it was chilly enough we needed jackets and probably could have had hats and light gloves.

I live in FL as well- and we take stuff for any type of weather. This week we bicycled twice with our cycling pants, long sleeved shirt and windbreaker- and walked a third morning in sweats- it has been cold in the mornings- and we live an hour south of Tampa. Expect any kind of weather. We are going to WDW in December and again in late Jan/early Feb- and will take a backpack in from our car and put it in a locker so we can take layers off through the day (or change into shorts) then put layers back on late in the day. I feel for your dilemma, as most of our trips to WDW were from elsewhere in the US- and as you have accurately noted the challenge is to get it all on the plane. My best advice is to wear your jackets onto the plane and some of your 'heavier weight' clothes (we even did that when we left from Phoenix)- then you will only need one extra suitcase for gloves, hats, and more warm clothing. Feb is a low rain month here- but that doesn't mean it cannot happen- so either bring a poncho or be prepared to buy one. Heck- November is a 'low rain' month- too (actually lower than February using annual averages), but we got a couple of inches of rain yesterday.

I'm fine in a tee and capris until about 50 degrees as long as I am walking around. At night I add a thin hoodie.

I'm from the midwest. I know cold and snow firsthand. And indeed Disney is the most fickle place for weather because of the extreme temp differences that can happen in the course of one day, on multiple days, and yes, you can get very cold in the parks even if you are from the North. I don't pack hardly any "more" clothes for Feb, but you have to include set pieces. So, I have one heavy hoodie, for example, I don't need multiple because it is a layering piece, not one you wear against your skin. A coat is the same way, along with gloves and a heavier hat. As someone else mentioned, wear a layer on the plane if you are flying. Just keep checking the forecast.

I like to wear the hiking type pants that unzip into capris. I can't wear pants in sunny 80 degree weather (especially since I come from the NE where my body is adjusted to highs in the 20s in February). With the zipping pants, you can start and end your day in pants and take the legs of your pants off during the day. The legs aren't bulky so they'll fit in a small bag.

In February, I find that most days my family is in shorts (capris for me) and t shirts with a sweatshirt to start and end the day. But again, we're coming from the north, so 50s doesn't feel as bad to us. There are always outlier days though - pants, jacket, hats and gloves or shorts, tshirts and no sweatshirts.

When we went a few years ago we packed fleece-lined hoodies and ponchos and just watched the weather. We wore shorts on the 80 degree days and wore jeans and the hoodies on the 45 degree day (we had one day that was really cold). If it was a day that might drop in temperature, we'd bring the hoodies and tie them around our waist when not using them. Most of the days were fine with shorts and short-sleeved t-shirts.
