I'm new to this site but find it very useful. I'm planning a trip to see Mickey and co but am torn between either mid Feb or mid October. Which is better crowd wise? (the lower the better) and also which is better weather wise?

Welcome!!:p

Been there at both times and the answer is naturally, it depends.

The Thurs/Friday leading up to President's Day and probably the Monday after are VERY busy. If you go before or Wed on after President's week -- the crowds will be very low. The weather will probably be dry -- but cool (but that depends on where you are coming from). We were at WDW this February 7th -- 12th (before President's Day) and it was no warmer then about 65 one day. One day I don't think it was better than 50 degrees and real cold at night. The week before I think it was in the low 70's though. But it was about 20 in Pittsburgh which is home.

We've been to WDW 4 or 5 times in October and it's probably my 2nd favorite time to go (1st week in December is my fav). The crowds will be very manageable and the weather should be warm -- mid 80's. You run the risk of more rain in Oct then you do in Feb but it's usually the typical Orlando rain -- 2 hours then it's fine.

Hope this helps.

Andy

Hope this helps.:smooth:

Just want to say that we too have been at different times of the year: February(never again) around Presidents Day; May(anytime-yes, yes, yes); early June-YES!; MLK weekend - o.k. but only if we really need a Mickey fix; December week before Christmas - yes to incredible atmosphere but do not expect a swimming experience or a tan and finally to October - can be crowded with Food & Wine Festival, can also have short park hours AND can also have enormous local school groups doing "classes". Just take that pixie dust and be prepared no matter when you go. A day in Disney no matter when is a day in delight!
