Mid December vs October

The past few times we've been to DLR it's been in October and we love the Halloween decorations even though we don't do the party. HM Holiday is a must this visit as my son will only try HM if Jack is there. I've heard that Oct is getting more and more crowded and the last time we were there in 2010 it seemed pretty bad.

So this year we are considering mid December probably 10th thru 14th (gotta time it so Indy is open). How does mid December compare to October?
