what is a good resource to check what kinds of events will be going on at the parks? Both to enjoy as well as to think about avoiding?

We always go mid November but can’t next year. Holiday decor would not be a deciding factor. We are thinking mid Dec or Jan or Feb (not MLK or pres day) or all of March, 2019/2020. Wednesday to Sunday trip.

Less heat, but ability to swim is a factor.

Love Epcot festivals as well.

Thanks!

Jan and Feb can get cold, but the pools are heated. I remember one Feb where we stayed at Pop and swam when it was really cold out, but the pool felt warm.

The trek back to the room was freezing!! I'd suggest bringing extra clothing and changing at pool restroom after swimming on a cold day.

Anywhere on the Dis or other resource - I think I saw KTP have something - that shows common dates/events throughout the whole calendar year at WDW?

We used to go the first week in March before we fell in love with Food&Wine and we really enjoyed that time. Flower&Garden is on, it's the 3rd lowest rainfall month and the temps usually feature highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s. I'd do that before taking a chance on low temps in the other months.
