Mid August or Late September?

I have booked a free dining vacation at Disney for the week of Sept 26th. Now, my husband and girls (10, and 7 when we go) want to cancel and that and just do water parks - Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Wet N Wild, Aquatica and SeaWorld.

I am questioning going Sept 26th now because it looks like all the parks are only open from 10-5 (seaworld 9-6).

We could possibly go the week of August 15th. How miserable are the water parks that week - are they packed because of the heat? I really like how SeaWorld and a couple of the water parks are open until 8 or 9 though. I feel like we could get more out of our vacation. However, if it's really crowded, I guess we don't gain much with more hours - just stand in line more :)

Thanks for any input.

I would go in September...the weather is a little better but still pretty humid and the parks should be less crowded to due schools back in session.

Actually it is just as hot in September as it is in August, but you may get rained on for longer periods of the afternoon in Sept. Both periods are in the more active Tropical Storm/hurricane season, so not a lot of difference in weather there either.

Advantage of August, SW will be having its night shows which are a lot of fun to see.

Advantage of Sept. crowds will be smaller.

When would I go if only could choose one---August! Crowds don't really effect you because the shows are in huge stadiums( just might not get the best seats if wait to long to get there). To ride Kraken wait until the fireworks show( not as good as anything at Disney). It is sually walk on(5-10 minute) for Kraken I would head straight to the new coaster first thing when the park opens cause that line will be huge no matter when you go.

It can be as bad as August and I did say a little better than August. You can not win in either month frankly and I would take late September to August any day. I've known very comfortable nights opening night of HHN for the past six years so I don't agree it's just as humid as August...FYI...HHN opening night is usually the last weekend of September.

Thanks for the input. I am leaning toward September after thinking about it some more. It will be a couple of hundred cheaper for the condo. And, if we are doing mostly water parks, I know Sept will be warm enough.

I decided we can do something like putt putt or go karts in the evening. We don't *have* to be at a park to have a good time (Darn Disney and it's mind wash LOL). It might be nice to have a break from parks.

That's a great idea...there are plenty of things to do in the evenings and miniature golf is a lot of fun!

Here is the information on Fun Spot in the I Drive area: http://www.funspot.tutengraphics.com/

There are quite a few miniature golf courses along I Drive...My personal favorite is Pirate's Cove.
