OK, so I have been lurking trying to find all the facts before we book. This is our first trip to DL and I am so excited. We have 2 DD's 4 and almost 2. I am trying to hit mid april to take advantage of the $150 GC special. I have looked up several spring breaks and really the majority of SB's are in March. Please post any ideas or thoughts you might have for me. Oh and we are going to stay at the DLH. :woohoo:

I would recommend that you call the Vacation Planning Office.

You can ask for 1st Visit Buttons for all of you. They will have it waiting for you at the front desk when you check in. Also, tell them each child's favorite character. We received a photo of the character and it was so nice to put it into their photo books. They can also email you a list of things you can buy (baskets, food, snacks, etc), but you do not need to buy anything, if you do not want.

They are a small office, seem pretty busy and sometimes you have to leave a message on the machine, but they have always called me back. They can also make all of your dining room reservations and are a great source for all of your questions. I love VP! They always help me and give me great advice. I figure that it is part of the price of staying on site and I want to get every penny's worth.

I would recommend writing down the name of the person that you speak with and then a few days before you arrive, call him/her back to double check with your requests and dining reservations.

Have fun!

Based on Disneyland's calendar they have extended hours all through the middle of April. The off season is usually 10-8 on weekdays and they will be open from 9-10 in mid April. This would suggest that Disneyland is expecting larger than usual crowds.

You'll still have a great time, but just go knowing what to expect!

NY schools (or at least in our area of NY) are out either the 3rd or 4th week of April this year for spring break.

Wow. Thank you for the great suggestion on the Vacation Planning office. I didn't even know it exsisted. As for the NY area Spring Break I did figure that some SB's might come close. Thanks for letting me know. I have not completed booking yet. I am feeling pretty confident in Costco and what they have to offer members does anyone have any different suggestions. We are only doing DLH & tickets, no air. Thank you to everyone who replied. I am so excited.

Would you mind filling me in on this $150 GC special? I'm an AP holder and haven't seen that one. I can talk my DH into a trip anytime the GC goes below $200, so this is a fabulous tip!! :thumbsup2

TIA!!

I think the OP is referring to the $150 Gift Card that is available if you stay at a Disney hotel for 3 or more nights. Not $150/night at the Grand Californian!
:)

What was that??? Do you have more info on this $150 gift cert for 3 nights at a DLR hotel? Sounds like a great perk!

Ohhh, I thouht that was too good to be true!!!:lmao: The cheapest I've ever been able to get was $199.

Darn, I was already packing my bags for a luxurious trip, no way DH would have been able to say no to that deal!! :rotfl:

Have a wonderful time OP!!! Enjoy spending that GC!!:woohoo:
