Microwaves at Poly?

Are there microwaves to make popcorn or to heat things in the rooms at the Poly?

i've heard in the past that you could request a microwave in your room and they could possibly grant it; but, no guarantees (just like everything else in Disney). I could be wrong though.

I asked this same question about the Poly a couple of weeks ago and a poster replied, in a very huffy tone, that the rooms at the Poly are 'not made for cooking'! I was like, jeez, lighten up. I just wanted to do popcorn!

When we stayed in May, we just called housekeeping and they brought one to our room for our whole stay. We needed it for baby bottles, but my sister also got one and she used hers for popcorn.

Thanks Trinity. It did make me feel a little like poor white trash trying to sneak into the ritzy resort. Looks like you'll be at the Poly same time we will. BTW we love to visit your town.

Yes, they also have a microwave at the CS location (Captain Cook's I think it's called). It's just sitting on the the counter near the condiments for anyone to use.

I've gotten a microwave at the Poly, GF, and BC. They are generally available at the deluxe resorts - you just need to call housekeeping.

2) The smell gets into everything, including drapes and bedding.
3) I sure would not want it in my room.

My husband had asked me this question last night but we are staying at CR. I was like why would you want to make popcorn while we are on vacation? We do this all the time at home. I guess i will put in a request anyway.

What if it's raining cats and dogs, and you're stuck in the room watching TV. Popcorn would be a good idea.

Well obviously the Hilton Hotel chain knows something Disney doesn't. We are Hilton Honors Platinum; several Hilton/Hampton hotels have in-room microwaves and free popcorn yet we have never checked into a roon that smelled of stale popcorn. They must have some kind of super air, drape, and bedding spray. Not to be disagreeing with you or anything.

I got the same type of response when I asked about a microwave in POP--not even to cook with, but rather to heat medication I needed. They were very nasty saying they didn't want to smell someone else's old popcorn when they checked in and telling me if I needed to heat my meds I should go to food court each morning! DH and I have now decided to look at Doubletree Suites near DTD--microwave in every suite and only $89 night (with free transportation to parks). I know it's bad to talk about the competition, but maybe Disney needs to up their game. I get the feeling a lot of people get swept up in the "disney experience" and settle for a place that is less than what they would normally expect at any other place. In this economy, DH and I have to start thinking with our wallets. Guess I should thank the nasty person because they have saved me a lot of ankst
