Are these shows different for December or are they the same as in the summer. I have never been but my friends have and would like to know if they are different.

As far as I know they are the same. I was there a few years ago at the beginning of December, and HDR was the same as it has always been. Going to the BBQ on Saturday for the first time, so I cannot comment on that.
