Oh I'm so excited, Makro called me last night to say the Mickey waffle makers were now in stock, so I collected one today and we've had waffles for tea!!

If anyone has any good recipes for lovely waffles I'd appreciate it, there were some ideas in the booklet but all were different to each other!

It was a bit of a treat for tea as we're about to go and visit DD's (yr 6, almost yr 7) secondary school and meet the teachers!

No recipes Im afraid, but well done on getting your waffle maker :thumbsup2

What is Makro? Is this the Mickey waffler I have seen in WDW? I have often wondered about getting this, but not knowing the first thing about electrics I decided not to buy it incase I wasted my money. If it is and it does work then I will buy one on my next trip! Sorry no ideas on recipes though but probably good idea to post on an American category as they are big on their waffles

Makro is a trade warehouse you have to have a business to apply for a card, I'm using work's card. All the prices are displayed without VAT, which you do pay at the check out, but i suppose if you have a business you claim it back anyway.

I'd thought about buying electrical items in WDW but not sure how the different voltage would work going from US to UK??

There were 4 recipes in the booklet, one said use 2 eggs another said 6 eggs!! i chose the vanilla recipe with the 6 eggs!

Not a member of Makro, have to get looking! :thumbsup2

Those Waffles sound good.

I make very plain waffles:

4oz self raising flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon caster sugar
1 tablespoon oil
1 egg
1/4 pint milk

Blend ingredients together and leave for half an hour before cooking.

It makes 6 waffles in my ordinary waffle iron but only 4 in my Mickey one.

Thanks for that recipe will try it.

It was 19.99 plus vat (sorry no pound sign on this keyboard!), which I thought was good. Its very solid and sturdy, stainless steel with red edges. If I can work out how to do it I'll post a pic!

Dimplenose - made waffles for breakfast with your recipe and they were great! DD would like to try adding cocoa to make choc ones, I rather fancy trying them with cinnamon. I can see the diet's on hold for now.....!

I'm please you enjoyed them. I hadn't thought of flavouring the mixture - I'll have to experiment.
