Mickey's Xmas party very disappointing

I too was very disappointed in mvmcp. It was my first time going on Dec 5th but what a waste. I wouldnt attend any of there extra parties not worth it.
THe rides had huge waits so maybe it was the time I went. The line ups to get characters to sign were so long.

Wow! It's so intersting how each of us have different experiences in the same places on the same dates.. :)

We were there on the 5th too - and encountered no lines or waits at all.. :Pinkbounc My son-in-law was soooo impressed - because he doesn't like crowds at all.. We enjoyed all the special things there were to enjoy and my DGD was able to ride Thunder Mountain 4 times in a row with her Dad with no wait at all.. Everything we rode was a walk-on; very short lines for the characters; no lines for the hot chocolate and cookies; nor were there any lines for the Photo Pass people who had totally saturated the park.. We arrived at 5 pm and left well after midnight..

We loved every minute of it.. It was one of the most enjoyable aspects of our trip and felt it was well worth the money..

I attended the party twice during the week after Thanksgiving and found it to be in general not worth the cost. Taking away from the enjoyment for me was the large crowds and the roped off area following the fireworks which made it difficult to move from one section of the park to the other. I think the party would be much better if Disney didn't sell so many tickets. And the so-called "snow" on Main Street was lame. A very poor attempt at snow methinks.

maybe I should have read this thread because we are going on the 22nd and it seems that I should except a huge let down. I am going to keep an open mind though.

One of the wonderful things about opinion posts like these is that they vary so greatly. We attended the party on Monday, 12/4 and had the time of our lives. There were no lines for the rides (pirates, Mickey's Philharmagic, Small World, teacups, etc, etc), the slight chill in the air put us in the Christmas mood, we devoured the cookies and apple slices, enjoyed the cocoa, and had what felt like a private few hours in the park. We took pictures with Santa, rode the teacups with the Queen of Hearts and Alice, went to a dance party with Alice, the Queen, Lilo and Stitch - took tons of pictures with the characters (Cinderella, Prince, Belle, Beast, Aurora, Prince, Mary Poppins, Captain Hook, Lilo, Stitch, Alice, Queen of Hearts, etc). I don't know if this is part of the PhotoPass standard Christmas party routine - but my daughter was told to cup her hands (while taking a photo with daddy on Main Street) and when we finally saw the pics - she has a Christmas Tinkerbell cradled in her palms. It is magical. We had a terrific night. The fireworks were amazing (the best I have ever seen), the Christmas excitement was contagious and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Totally worth the extra money.

Lilo's mom we loved it too. :thumbsup2

Will totally build our trip around it next year (if we make it next year).

The fireworks were amazing

Even though my two other posts on this thread were mostly negative, I totally agree with this. Not sure it was worth the price of admission but the fireworks were amazing.
