~Hello:

I've been lurking and can't find the answer to my question!

Is it really worth it to book MVMC? :santa: I mean, there are parades and fireworks and it looks like we can even see snow at MGM.

I asked my neighbor and she said, "Well you get hot cocoa and cookies"...

That didn't convince my husband to spend the extra $$.

He told me to investigate and see if we'd really be missing out if we didn't go.

Advice please!!!
TIA

I would love to hear from people who have also been. We have our MVMCP tickets and can't wait! This will be our first Christmas at Disney! :santa:

You can see the snow at MGM as part of the Osborne Spectacle of Lights. It has nothing to do with the MVMCP. We have been multiple times to MVMCP and are doing it again this trip. We enjoy it. You can't get into MK until 4:00pm using the MVMCP ticket and about 6:00pm they start moving the people that are attending the party into tommorrowland so they can empty the park of everyone else. Then about 7:00pm the only people remaining in the park are those attending the party (they only sell about 6000 tickets per party). You get to see the Christmas Parade which is the only way to see that except for being there Christmas week. They used to give a complimentary photo as part of the ticket, but they have stopped doing that. You do get cookies and Cocoa. You do get to see it snow on Mainstreet some during the party also. The party lasts until midnight. It really would be up to you and your family if the experience would be worth it. Here is a link if you haven't already seen this :thumbsup2 http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/mvmcp.htm

We've gone for the last 4-5 years and LOVE it. For us, it's totally worth it!

Hello,

Hope I can answer your question. My 1st time to WDW during Christmas and I bought tickets for 2 different parties because this is the only time you can see the Christmas parade and because of all the special shows.

MVMCP is a limited ticket event. Crowds should be smaller especially during the weekday events. I've been to both the Pirate and Princess Party and the MNSSHP and they are both worth the money.........

Before you decide, check out the following link, there may be enough other Christmas things going on, that you may decide the Christmas party is not worth it.

By the way the day I'm leaving is the day you're arriving. Have a great trip!

For our family, the MVMCP tickets are a must. But we're unique because we're only going to be in the World for four days, and we want to maximize time in the theme parks. None of the other parks are open the night we're doing MVMCP, so it makes a lot of sense for us to spend the extra money.

If you have other places to go/things to see, and don't particularly care about any of the special features, then you might want to skip the party tickets.

We loved the MVMCP the last time we went - the other posts are right - the number of tickets sold is very limited, so you don't have to deal with crowds or lines for anything.

What ever you decide, have a wonderful visit!:santa: :santa: :santa:

When are you going we leave tomorrow. Going to MVMCP on Thurs night. for the 1st time. I will let you know, I am sure it will be worth it.

We leave 11-28. We're doing 3 days in the parks. I can choose either 11-29 or 11-30 to go to MVMC.

Thanks everyone. I'm still not sure what we'll do. I see MK is open until midnight 12-1, so we might just skip the MVMC and do MK on that day.

If I'm understanding correctly, the main things that are special with MVMC:

Christmas parade (we're not a big parade family)
Special shows (not sure if this entices me or not...)
Less people (I like this, but I've also heard it's still very busy)
Beautiful lights (We'll do the Osborne Lights)
Snow on Main Street (There's snow in MGM I hear)

I'm still debating...I'd appreciate any more pros/cons!!!

You will probably not find it worth the extra ticket at this time.

I've attended once and very glad I did. It is definitely worth doing at least once. But it doesn't need to be this time. It can be NEXT time! ;) :thumbsup2

my dh and i did this for the first time last year and it was really fun to watch the shows and just very leisurely "stroll" through the MK. we are taking our 17 year old dd in december. we are not the parade kind of people and saw them all. it really is a magical time to be there. have fun!!

There is a poll going on on the Theme Parks and attractions forum about MVMCP. I've also seen other threads about it. I'm going...friends in Orlando said it was a must. You do get free cookies and hot chocolate too.:santa: From what I've read the special lights on the castle will be every night so that isn't a pro but make sure you get to see them.

We have gone every time, we go in early Dec. I think it's worth it, not for the hot chocolate but the parade is great, the fireworks beautiful, and MK just looks different on the nights of MVMCP. I do miss the picture and the yearly buttons but we have our old ones. I think you have to think how much you like MK, you mentioned MGM alot, and we all have our special parks for different reasons, so if MK isn't one of your fav's that might help you decide. Kids involved? do they love MK? then they would love it. I don't know ages but I know my DS was all excited to stay till 12. I think it's something you should do at least once, if not this trip, another.:santa:

Been 2 of the last 3 years, love going you will have a great time.

If you go on the DVC moucellenous board someone just posted a picture of the castle, someone else has a link to a you tube video of the Lighting/icing. This is new I can't believe I won't be there this year to see it.:santa:

Just one more reason to do MVMCP:cheer2:

OMG! My fiance and I can't WAIT!!! It just seems like such a festive and fun thing to do while we're at Disney!! I can't even begin to imagine how beautiful everything will be!!

:santa: :santa: We're actually buying these sweaters for the party that night! We're so incredibly thrilled about this trip! I know it's corny but we don't care. LOL!

I've heard that MVMCP is pretty crowded and it's hard to ride the rides, but we're going next month anyway! We're not planning on doing any rides during the party, so that doesn't matter to us and we're excited about going.

By the way Mermaid_Ariel, those sweaters are so cute!! You're right - maybe a little corny, but I wouldn't care either, lol.
