How is this? Can someone who has been to it in the past explain it to me.

Do they close the parks and then reopen for this? I see you need a special ticket so I assume this is after normal park hours. Is it worth the extra cost? Does the park close early on the days that have this party?

Are there Christmas oriented characters during the normal parades or is this the only way to see Christmas Disney characters.

Thanks in advance.

MVMCP is a must see/do! This December will be our second time. Everyone who has tickets for the party get a wrist band and are sent over to tomorrow land until 7 PM. There are Christmas characters in both parades. You will have a blast!

So they don't make you actually leave the park and then come back? (I had hoped not!) This will also be our 1st time going this year!! :)

This is a must do for us every year. The parade and shows are not to be missed. As you come into the park there will be snow floating down on main street and a show going on on the castle stage. The Christmas parade is awesome, it's our favorite parade. We will be doing MVMCP again this year on Dec. 4.

Any suggestions for a good parade viewing spot on Main Steet and how early should I get there? Is it better to do the second parade? We're going on Thurs. Dec 1st and have a PS at LTT for 5:40.

Last year we watched the parade from the back of the park. It was a pretty good spot (right across from LTT). I sat with the kids about a half hour early and DH went off to get popcorn and sodas to kill the time. My kids were 5 & 7 so they were pretty easy to entertain for the half hour.

This time, I'd like to try being on Main Steet and having the snow.

Thanks!

The first parade is much more crowded then the second. The people start lining up VERY early for the first parade, many already sitting as soon as they enter the park around 7:00p or earlier.

Even for the second parade, I've looked for a spot about an hour beforehand. It's a popular event.

I like just getting a curb spot on Main Street since that is where the snow falls.

Good luck!

We love MVMCP! We have been 2x so far and plan on doing again next year. We always use that day as an off day so our DD is well rested to make it through the night. Last year, we got in around 4:30 and had dinner at CP. At around 6pm, they got all the people without MVMCP tickets out the gates and put all the guests with tickets in Tommorrowland until 7pm. Once 7 rolled around, we were allowed to move around. I think we got to main street around 7:30 and picked a seat right in front of the bakery. DH ran inside and got some cookies and also went to one of the cocoa spots and grabbed some for us. By the time he got back, the parade was just starting! My DD was 13 months last time we went and she just loved the snow. She sat in her stroller the whole time and was facinated by the parade. It is a defenite not miss for us everytime we go! When we go back next year she will be 4 and I can't wait for her to experience it again!

I am not sure the extra cost for special tickets will be in our budget this year. :guilty:

From reading this thread I assume that Magic Kingdom closes early on the nights of this party and those without tickets had to leave. Is this correct?

Normally in a day at MK there are at least 2 parades. On days when they have this party are there still parades?

NO! :dog: We were stupid last year--didn't know about the DIS boards!--and actually left the park, had dinner and tried to get back in with allllllll the other people! Yikes!

It was wonderful---if you go into it thinking it's a waste of money, you'll find ways to say it is. I would have gone again this year, except DH has a convention--so it's MNSSHP for us!

Yes, the same park, the same rides. But sooo much more magic! The people there all thought it was worth paying twice, so they're REALLY into being there. It's like a huge party. Everyone was walking around last year with a huge grin. So were we, until we lost DS 4 :goodvibes
oh yeah--the security is wonderful with lost kids!! ;)

Yes, MK closes at 6:00p on party nights and if you do not have tickets to the event, then they will make sure you leave by 6:00p.

There is usually one parade at 3:00p and that goes on every day even party nights. The only other parade I can think of is Spectromagic which is only held Saturdays and one week day (not a party night).

During the party, there will be the Christmas parade shown twice; around 8:00p and 10:30p.

MVMCP is a must do for us too. We really enjoyed it in 2003. We already have our tickets for 12/11 and hope to buy tickets for 12/13 or 12/15 a little closer to our trip when we have a better idea what the weather will be like.

For more information on MVMCP and all the holiday happenings at WDW, check out AllEarsNet and for a better detailed idea of what goes on at Epcot, check out Steve Soares' site. I hope this helps. Maggie

Does anyone know what the latest ADR time for the Plaza Restaurant is on MVMCP nights?

If you can go up on top of the rail road station. That is where the parade starts. If you get there early enough, you can have some chairs and a table. Grab some fudge from Main St. and enjoy. It's the best. :teeth:

I ate there on a MVMCP night a couple of years ago. I think the last was at 4:30-5:00.
