I was all set to purchase tickets for this event but I'm having trouble making it worth it. Two adults DVC tickets come to $142 for five hours. Just not sure it's worth it since it's just two adults with grown kids who won't be with us. If you have been there please share your experience. We can afford it. I'm just not sure I want to go for this price. I'm thinking it might be better to put it to an annual pass since we will be there for a month in January.

I'm going on Nov 10 - it will be myself and a friend, two adults, no children.

While I haven't done the Christmas Party, I have done the Halloween party before (We are lucky enough to get to do BOTH this trip!). I can say without a doubt that the party I went to before was worth every penny.

I am looking forward to the Christmas decorations, the 'snow' on Main Street, wandering the Kingdom with hot chocolate and cookies, the special parade, the special character meet and greets, and the myriad of other things that make this five hours so special.

I am going with friends who only have a 3 day pass, and they do want to see the MK. With the party ticket, they can enter at 4, so there will be time to do what they want, I even got us FP+ for the 4-7time period.:)

Now, DH who will be at WDW that night chooses not to spend the money, we both have APs. We have seen the parade and fireworks. Neither of us needs hot chocolate and cookies.

If you are not sure about going, how about going to the TOTW lounge at BLT for drinks and seeing the special fireworks? If it weren't for my friends, I would not be going, but I have been a few times.

We haven't gone for the past several years. Disney's price has exceeded the value to us, especially since the parties are much more crowded than when they were first offered.

That said, if you haven't ever gone to one, you should go at least once. The parade and special fireworks are the best Disney offers, IMO. And it's hard to beat the feeling you get walking down Main Street in the "snow" after dark. :)

I agree with Carol, if you haven't attended it before, it's worth the cost at least once, then you can mark it off your list.

Do you need to have a park or park hopper ticket to enter at 4pm? If I only have the Mickey Very Merry Christmas ticket can I enter at 4pm?

Yes you use the party ticket to enter at 4:00.

This is how we justified it. 8 hours in the park and a good chance that we won't be back for at least 5-10 years.

I, too, agree with Carol and Disneynutz. We did it four years ago and said that it was good to do it once. Well, we're going again next month and doing it again. It's pricey but the party had its own special vibe and it was a lot of fun.

I say if you can somehow budget it, do it! (at least once.)

I will be a contrarian to the above. We have done it twice but both times with one or more grandkids. It is an excellent event if you have kids in tow as rides are easy to get on, you can meet characters, the music and dance areas are great for younger ones, and the parade is fine. However, I would would not go at the current price if it was just adults.

Is the parade and fireworks at the party different than on non party nights?

Yes.

Although during Christmas week they only do the holiday parade and fireworks during the normal park hours but they also end the parties.

I bought tickets to the party using the DVC discount for myself (member) and 5 other guests (I had the tickets mailed to me), do we all need to be together when entering the park for the party? I was planning on heading to MK earlier in the day with my AP and the rest of the group just wants to do the party and enter at 4pm.

No - all they need is the ticket. You do not have to be there when they enter the park if ythey already have the tickets.

Members who choose will-call as the ticket delivery method must pick up the actual tickets themselves at Guest Relations to show their member ID. But once they have the tickets, the member doesn't have to enter the park with his/her guests.

Excellent, thanks Carol, this is our first time at a special ticket event.

From your mouth to God's ear. Would you please tell my DD9 this? :D

Dec 2 will be her 7th one, good Lord willing.

She is only 9 and has been calling the shots for awhile. You've got a long way to go! :cutie:

Good luck buddy. :goodvibes

All adults in our group now, we always do it when we go in December. I have seen it now 5 times and I never get tired of it. But then I love everything about Christmas.

I will say due to the expense I will never buy my tickets in advance anymore. One year of horrible, horrible weather that completely ruined the evening, was enough to make me wait until I arrive.

I would rather it be sold out and not go than face that again.

Perhaps we will see you there. We are going too that evening. This will be our first time for MVMCP. Super excited for our 3 toddlers. I hope there will be lots for them to do.

We were trying to decide whether to get tickets, too.
On our December trip, it will be just DH and myself ... no kids this time.
We've enjoyed the party other years, but it doesn't seem worth it for the two of us.
Hoping instead to watch fireworks from BLT Top of the World Club. We will be staying at SSR, and I 'm hoping that we can still visit TOWC as we are staying on property on points. During our last trip home, we were able to do that. :wizard:
