When purchasing park hopper tickets during December, do you need to purchase a very merry Christmas ticket on top of the park ticket?? Seems unfair to have to spend $72 pp on top of the park hopper ticket cost

Yes. The party is a special separate ticket event.

I guess I'm just a little confused as to know if you are even allowed in magic kingdom on those party days if you hVe not bought a ticket...could you go in to Magic Kingdom without a MVMC ticket? Or is the park shut down exclusively for the very merry attendees?

On party days, the park is open to anyone who has a regular ticket until 7:00, which is when the party starts. In order to be there during the party, you need to have a party ticket.

The MK tends to be less crowded in the day time before the party starts since a lot of people want to use a day for MK when they can see the evening parade and fireworks. So a good strategy for park hoppers who want to avoid the crowd is to go to MK on a party day in the morning and early afternoon then hop to a different park for the evening if you aren't doing the party.

I think the park actually closes at 6:00 on party days. It is closed from 6:00-7:00.:santa:

I think that used to be but it isn't now. We were there in November. On a party night they announce that if you don't have a party ticket that it is time to leave. And CMs check for your party bracelets and those without are escorted out.

Can you go in the rides? We're planning to do our typical morning/half day at Animal Kingdom then go to the party around 4-5.

Yea, we did it last year. The ride times are much less than usual. Also don't forget about the unlimited cookies and hot chocolate!

On the nights that there is not a MVMCP....does the castle still light up with the Christmas lights? We will be there in Nov but really not interested in spending the money for the party.

Yep. They do a castle lighting show every night at about 6-6:15.

Thanks....will the parade at night be the normal parade or do they always have a Christmas electric parade in November?

The nighttime parade is always the MSEP, although it doesn't run on party nights. After the last MVMCP, the daytime parade is changed to the Christmas parade.

Is the party worth the extra money? Do they have unique activities or is it like a regular night with less people?

Yes, unique activities like snow on Mainstreet, different fireworks, different shows, even some different character meet-and-greets.

We always do it, because even though the parks are decorated up for the holidays, at MVMCP it is all amped up, and it is ALL about CHRISTMAS!!! SANTA COMING!!! and all the traditional childhood Christmas dreams.

I may be a 40+ year old dad, but those hours in the park I feel like I am a 7 year old boy that still believes in Santa. There really is some magic in the air...but then maybe I'm just a sucker for the pixiedust mixed with snow.
