My DFi and I are going to MVMCP this year for the first time and we were wondering what to expect. Both of us have only been down there in the summer and with her family so this trip will be the first by ourselves and during the winter. Basically we were wondering how the crowds are and what else besides the extra hours to expect. Any other suggestions on what to do will be helpful.

Snow on Main Street. A holiday parade. Special Wishes fireworks. Free hot chocolate and cookies. Characters in holiday outfits and special photo ops. Holiday stage shows. Special holiday merchandise only available at the parties. Plenty of holiday fun and cheer.

Disney limits the number of tickets so its not too crowded.

Not only cookies and hot cocoa, but apple slices and apple juice too!
Have your nose ready when ya see the parade! The fireworks like always will make you cry! Take advantage of the pics, the ones with characters, have them done right there that night, it takes like 5 min,(inside the judges tent) they even add little things to the pics, there 40% off that night only!!! Go back to frontier land to watch the parade, but make it out to Main street before 12am to see the snow! Get in a t 4pm, ride your fav rides, then at 7 go see the shows, and do the dances, the wicked stepsisters are a hoot! Also chip and dales dance party, the kids love that one! Try to eat an early dinner, also remember to get your dole whip before 7pm, cause aloha isle is closed! Don't worry about missing the 1st parade, go on some rides, the 2nd parade is much better and less crowded, the parents of little kids usually head out early. See the castle lighting ceremony at like 6 or 6:30pm, so pretty!! On your way out, don't forget the MVMCP memorabilia, t-shirts, ect!! DOn't try to ride every ride, make sure you watch your times, so you get to see the shows, you pay to see these!! Get in line at least 30-45 min even an hr to the shows though, they fill up fast! The crowds depend on the day..some are better than others. After the party is over at 12 am, stay behind for 30-45 min..it lets the buses and monorail empty a bit, we stayed till 1:30am, they keep the stores on the way out open a bit later!! We didn't get back to our hotel till 2am! I had 3 kids with me! The best thing if ya have lil ones, dont drag them to a park all day, let that be a free day, so they can chill all day, and they will be awake for the night time fun!! The characters are dressed in there Christmas best, where something festive too for pics!!
The weather here in FL is so unpredictable, some nights were shorts and t shirts, and others were gloves and hats!! Its best to dress in layers, or you will be shelling 45 bucks out for a sweatshirt!! Watch the weather report before you go, its not fun in the rain, even though we don't get too much rain in Dec.! Umm..I think thats about all I can remember for now!! Have fun!!

Thank you both for the advice. We will probably be the weird people dressed in shorts and tee shirts because we will be coming from 20 degree weather up in Michigan.:cold:

This will be our first time also going to WDW to see the Christmas festivities. We've always gone in the summer, so the suggestions about MVMCP are great!::thumbsup2
My sister & I are flying from Montana and our niece will be flying from Michigan to join us.
We're getting really excited!:dance3:

:santa::wave:

This will be our first time at MVMCP - and to make it even better we are attending ON DHs actual birthday!:woohoo:
This will be the best party I have ever thrown for him!

Is this something different then visiting charcters with Photographer? I am curious as what is is they actually do in 5 min., print your pics? what characters are part of this? I know MSSHP we had separate photopass card, but we got the 40% off when we got home on prints we ordered., This sounds different though :cool1:
