Can anyone tell me if this would be enjoyable for 2 adults? If not any other park after hour activitiy suggestions.

Thx

My wife and I have done this twice without kids and twice with the kids. I can honestly say, we enjoyed it more without the kids. The parade and fireworks are great. Plus, without the kids we could enjoy some of the shows and attractions in a very relaxed manner.

This is our favorite party with everything decked out for the Holidays, the snow on mainstreet, the hot cocoa and cookies and of course, our favorite Disney parade.

We would love to do again without the kids!

Its awful to say, but we also enjoy MVMCP without the kids also, DW and I usually go during the first week of Dec and take in all the holiday events and its so enjoyable the two of us enjoying the parks together during the holiday season alone. You will have a great time..., just a side note, we do bring the kids, but during June mostly.

I think my husband and myself had lots more fun when it was just us at the Christmas party .. but I wouldn't even think of leaving my 4 yr old daughter at home... she loves it! The last time we went was when she was 18 months.. so I am sure it will be lots more fun with her this year! princess:

Ohiovacationer... WDW takes on a new kind of magic when you are there with someone you love. Yes, when you are there with a child you see things through a childs eye, but when you are there with another adult you see and enjoy things you never could if you were there with a child or children.

MVMCP is magical. There is plenty to do and to see and to enjoy as adults. Go! Seeing it snow on Main Steet, the shows, the parade, the fireworks... you will love it.

Have a wonderful time!

My mom and I are thinking of doing this this year. We are leaving my sister, BIL and nieces in Epcot. They don't want to spend the money for all of them to go to MVMCP. So my question is while I wish I were there with my Hubby, it will just be my mom and me. We are trying to decide if it will be magical without the kids! So can anyone tell me about the shows at MVMCP? Is there concerts? I know there is a special parade, but what else. Probably won't be getting my mom on any of the big rides that will be open! Are all the rides open or just the main ones? Also does anyone know if the parade is really late at night. Not sure we can make it until 12pm? Thanks for any information.

To the OP, sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread. Just wanted a little more info :goodvibes

Hubby & I love it. This will be our 3rd trip at Christmas just so we can go to the party. The entire event is just such a feel good evening for us. We love the snow on Main Street, the shows and the parade. It really puts us in the holiday mood. We like to follow it up the next night with the Osborne lights and end with the CP at Epcot. If these three events don't put you in the Christmas Spirit nothing will.

Last year my husband and I went and we had a BLAST! It was probably one of our best times at disney. we are big kids, though, so I am sure it helps. It can be pretty romantic, though with the snow falling on main street, the fireworks over the castle, etc. We are really upset that we will miss it this year. We won't arrive until the 23rd!
Go and have a great time! I think the christmas parade and fireworks are the best ever.

We are going on Dec 12. We are leaving the kids in the Never Never land club. I felt a little guilty, but I wanted that night to be a "date" night for hubby and I. After reading this I feel less guilty. :cool1:

I am a solo travler and I went last year and doing it again this year. Yes it is great. I go for all the shows and if I get some rides in thats fine. That was the mistake I made last year. This is something to go to not for the rides but the parade and shows. The second Parade is much less crowed then the first. It is still crowed but not as bad as the first. You need to take your time and enjoy don't rush to enjoy the magic. The fireworks(Wishes) is just unbelieable.

This is from my map and MVMCP from last year...

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade - 8:15 & 10:40 pm

Fantasy in the Sky ( wishes this year??) 9:15pm

Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas- 7:15,8:15, 9:30, 10:30 & 11:30

Celebrate the Season -castle forecourt stage- 7, 9:30 & midnight

Wild West Christmas Show-diamond horseshoe saloon- 7:30, 8:45, 10 & 11:30

Belle's Enchanted Christmas 7:30, 8:40, 9:30, 10:20, 11:10

Santa's Snowflake Special- fairytale garden-storyteller-7:25, 8:05, 8:55, 10:15, 11;30

Lake Howell's Holiday Brass- tomorrowland stage- 6:45, 7:45, 9:00

Thanks to all for your opinions and suggestions. Sounds like I need to find out where to purchase advance tickets.

Methinks there's some good advice in this post. I will be going to the Christmas Party solo this year, twice, once on a Tuesday evening, and then making a second visit on Friday, three days later. (Already got my tickets.)

I usually go see the Circus on that Friday evening, but decided to visit the Magic Kingdom instead. Thought I might concentrate on the rides one night, and the parade, fireworks, and Christmas shows the second. And, I will have a chance to compair the Party on a weekday and a weekend evening.

Ho, Ho, Ho!

Karnak.. we do this too.. We go for the parades ( we try to see both of them) as the christmas parade is my all time favorite!!, the fireworks, the shows and the characters all dressed up for christmas and winter. The dance party in Fantasyland is a fun thing too.

One year we did 2 parties. One for parade, fireworks and rides, and the other one for parade, fireworks and shows!!

okay you guys that go to disney alot help me out on how to get the most of a little time there. We are 2 adults, husband and wife just going basically to disney to see what it is like at christmas time. How can we get the most out of our time there. Plans are to Mk, AK, and EPCOT. Only have a 1 day hopper right now but I would like to do the Mickeys christmas party. We will arrive on Tues. aft. so probably will just go to the downtown area that aft and evening. Wed use our park hopper for AK, EPCOT. Then Thursday Dec. 14th go to the Mickeys Party. Does this sound doable.

Anyone know where to buy the ticket for Mickeys Party? We do not need a regular ticket to get in right? Just a Party ticket for that evening?

This is the best board I have seen yet. You guys are great.

DBF and I are going and we don't have any kids! We planned it just for the 2 of us!

My DH and I are going to MVMCP on Nov. 13. This is an adult only trip to DW for our anniversary/birthdays & Christmas. It has been a dream of mine to visit for the Christmas party!! I couldn't believe they were having the party so early in November. It will be the highlight of my vacation.

We bought our tickets on line at disneyworld.com

Does anyone know if you can buy the tickets while you are at Disney? I am not sure I am going to commit to this party. We would be going to the first one on Nov 13th. Not sure if this one will be busyor if you think it will sell out. I know we will pay more than ordering before our trip. I guess I am just worried to get there and have rain or real cold weather. I love MK and I would love to see the party, but not in the rain and not if it is really cold! I just can't seem to commit! Thanks for any information!

How can you get the most out of your time at WDW? Here's how I'd do it, assuming you will arrive on Tue. Dec. 12, and depart sometime on Fri., Dec. 15. This plan would require two days of park hopping, and a set of Christmas Party tickets. This plan also requires two dinner reservations (which need to made as soon as possible, and with second and third choices of eateries on hand when you call.) You will end up seeing the best Disney has to offer, given a limited time.

Tuesday: Go to the Studios upon arrival at WDW that afternoon. Do whatever you like that day, but make a Fantasmick dinner reservation. This will get you seats for the show. After the show be sure to walk through the Christmas lights at the Studios. Very impressive evening alltogether.

Wednesday: Get to the Animal Kingdom at opening, and do whatever you like that day. The AK closes early (probably about 5 or 6). If it were me, I would leave the AK at about 3:00, and go to Epcot for the remainder of the evening. Make dinner reservation with seating for the Christmas Processional at Epcot. (I would plan on the latest show.) See IllumiNations just after the Processional.

Thursday: Sleep a bit late, and spend some time at Downtown Disney. Go to the Magic Kingdom, arriving just before 4:00 pm, and do whatever you like. Make dinner reservation, or just plan on eating at a counter service. Enjoy the Magic Kingdom and the Christmas Party until closing at midnight.

To buy tickets for the Christmas Party call the WDW General Info. number (407-824-4321), and at the menu of options select the number for tickets.
You will not need a regular admission ticket to the Magic Kingdom to attend the Party, and you will be admitted into the Magic Kingdom anytime after 4:00 pm.

If you are going to make dinner reservations and buy Party tickets, one call can do it all, including the tickets. The CM will be happy to assist you with both. (1-407-939-3463)

Note: When you order your Party tickets the CM should give you the option of having the tickets mailed to your home address (for an extra charge of $3.00), or you may elect to pick up your tickets at the will call window near the Magic Kingdom main gate. I strongly advise spending the three bucks. Well worth it to avoid standing in the long line that's likely to form at the ticket window in my humble opinion.

Hope this helps.

Enjoy.

Cmbar. yes, you can get the tickets at disney while you are there. I believe you can also get them right at your hotel too!

Ohio- If you dont want to spend the time and the money on the Candlelight Processional at Epcot, you can sit outside of American Adventure and hear the music. That way you can still hear it a little with out having most of your night tied up in a sit down dinner and the CP. If you get to AK at opening and do the major attractions, you can be out of there by 1. Then just go directly to Epcot. Spend the day looking doing the Holiday Storytellers in all of the countries! Do the tree lighting ceremony at Epcot that night too! Stay for Illuminations and the special ending with tons of great fireworks!

I think you should see Osbourne Lights at MGM too! You wont need the sit down dinner fantasmic package to see Fantasmic. You can even take advantage of some evening Extra Magic Hours if they have them the nights you are there if you are staying on property!
