Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

Our only option is Dec. 16, which is a Friday night. Please tell me it will be ok. We did the Halloween party 2 years ago on the 31st and its wasn't too bad, I think it was also a Friday night. I'm just a little concerned, thanks!

Put me down for Dec. 20. Just ordered my tickets and got my PS for LLT at 6pm. I know it's the last day and am worried the crowds may be higher.

I'm going on 12/16 and have been on a Friday before. I really can say it was not that bad. I do have two other days scheduled in MK, however, so there won't be so much pressure to see and do everything.

I thought I read somewhere that they sell special sweatshirts and tshirts at MVMCP. I read that you can only buy them that night. Does anyone know if this is true? If so are they expensive? And what shop sells them?
TIA,
Kimba

Yes it is true. I know we got some at the star traders shop (I think that is what it is called) in Tomorrowland. I think the run about the normal price of other T's and Sweatshirts. $35-55 if I remember correctly. They do have them at other shops though too, that is the only one we ventured in because it wasn't as busy.

Oh and you can also get the limited edition pin on those nights too. They have a different one each night but they do sell out pretty fast so that is one of the first things I go buy!

Okay, we have tickets for December 20. But that is supposed to be an MGM day for us, and we'd like to do the Fantasmic Dinner Package. Assuming the only Fantasmic show is at 6:00 PM (based on 2004 park schedule), do you think it's possible to go to Fantasmic and get over to MK by 7:00? I'm thinking we should just forget Fantasmic for that night and try to do it some other night instead. Any advice/suggestions?

I'd skip Fantasmic. You'll be way too rushed trying to get to MK. Plus, they usually let MVMCP people in early and also, if you're already in the park, you can get your wristband early at MK, so if you get to MVMCP right at 7pm, there will already be lots of people there. We'll be there December 20th, too! We're doing dinner at LTT around 5:00pm.

:flower: Just ordered my tickets online for 11/27. That's our first day in a Disney hotel (staying offsite the night before because we'll be driving down)

We'll be going to Disney Quest earlier in the day, so hopefully we'll still be able to get into the park after 4 to have some dinner before the party officially starts!

YAY! It looks like we'll be in the World at the same time. And I'm a Central NY'er too (I live just south of Ithaca). Wow - you get a gold star for doing the driving thing (originally I asked where are were flying out of). I had to book a flight out of Buffalo for a reasonable fare (well, as reasonable as I could find - $193).

Two questions about MVMCP during "Value Season":

1. I assume Disney calls this time "Value Season" because of the light crowds--are the crowds light during the party?

2. I read that there are usually two parades during MVMCP; are there when it's Value Season?

For reference, I am planning to attend the party on Thursday 12/15.

Thanks bunches!

1. Early and mid-December are value because the crowds are significantly smaller. A lot of attractions are walk-on or small waits. Some nights of MVMCP are lighter than others based on ticket sales, but even when I had been on a sold-out night, I didn't think the crowds were that bad. Maybe, say 20 minute waits on the bigger attractions, if that, from what I remember.
2. There are always two parades during every MVMCP. My tip is to catch the second parade in Frontierland, its much less crowded than Main Street.

Stacy,

We'll be in NJ for Thanksgiving, and my husband doesn't really like flying and I didn't want to deal with Newark. We are leaving early on the 25th stopping in GA, going to Daytona USA on the 26th and checking into the GF on the 27th.

It's finally spring here in upstate NY and I'm getting excited about our trip in November when winter will be knocking on our doors!

We're going Dec. 11th. We're bringing our friends who have never ever been to WDW, they arrive that day, and I sure hope they're as pleased as we've been with the parties in the past. Dmom and Dsis are joining us as well.

Can anyone tell me what the weather is like late-Nov/early-Dec. I have only been to Florida once and it was August.
Thanks! ::MinnieMo

Pack and prepare for anything! You can be in shorts and a tank one day, and the next day buying as many pairs of gloves you can get your hands on in the parks. But generally, a pair of jeans, t-shirt and a light jacket for night will do. Last December, I wore capris a lot with thin long sleeve shirts.

Thanks for answering so fast! :sunny: :cold: ...anything is better than Boise in December!

I live in Ohio, but I think you copied our plan! *L* We're leaving Ohio on the 25th, driving to somewhere around Savannah, GA, then going to Daytona to the track and to walk on the boeach on the 26th, spending the night in Daytona and checking into our resort on the 27th! Great minds think alike, maybe we'll see you along the way!
