Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

Unfortunately we've had to cancel our December trip, so could you please remove me from the list? :sad1:

Thanks.

Lisa

Just booked a last minute Christmas trip (20th - 26th). We will arrive early on the 20th so I also bought tickets for the last MVMCP. I have never been during this time of year. My question is whether we should spend valuable party time eating dinner? I did get a 8:15 ADR for LTT. We plan to be in the park at 4 if they still let you in with just the MVMCP tickets at that time. So we can do rides till 6 then head over to whichever land they send us to. What do you do from 6 to 7? Our goal is to enjoy all of the special Christmas events and still ride as many rides as possible. We will only be doing the MK for a half day later in our trip so we want to maximize the party night. Any suggestions?

We are at MVMCP on 12/16. We have an ADR at LTT at 5:50. Say we get into the park at 4pm, are any of the party exclusive activities occuring before 7pm? For example, any of the shows, picture taking, etc. My plan is to enjoy the party activities, having the rides is just a bonus. Does snow fall on Main Street throughout the party or just at first? I plan to leave LTT after dinner at 7and ride the train around to Main Street, but any activities I can get in before our ADR at 5:50 would be great.

The train does not run during the party so it will stop by 6:00p. Last year during the hour the park was closed between 6:00p and 7:00p, Tomorrowland was the only area open and the did have the rides running, food, one Xmas show and photo taking but the rest of the park waited right till 7:00p and closed promptly at 6:00p.

All you will be able to do from 4:00p to 6:00p is rides, nothing festive relating to the party.

The snow varies from night to night. One party it only snowed at the beginning and for the 2 parades. One year it snowed all evening and one year it started to snow half way through the parade...I think they were having problems.

I have an ADR at 5:50, but am trying to decide whether to switch to 4:15 or not. It seems like the earlier ADR would be less crowded, but.... I am just not sure.

Do whatever your gut is telling you to do. I prefer eating during the hour the park is closed rather then being stuck in Tomorrowland with everyone else. But there are plenty of others who prefer to eat early or counter service and be in Tomorrowland for that hour.

It's a matter of preference or what you are used to.

Good luck deciding.

:earboy2: I have a similar ???

We were planning to attend MVMCP on Dec. 13 (tue) and to eat @'Ohana.

The only PS I was able to get was a 6:30. We likely wouldn't get to the party until 8pm. Would it still be worth it, could we still get our family photo?

TIA for any advice from all of you vetrans out there.

This is what we are doing! We have a 5:15 though. I would keep checking back though for an earlier time.

I have a 5:30 LTT available if anyone wants...still haven't had a taker on it.

Sure you will - the party goes until midnight!

My sister who has attended the last 5 while on her annual vacation, I believe waits until later in the evening to get hers taken so there are less folks in line. It moves quickly though they have many photographers at each location (not sure if its 2 locations or more)

The parade is great with "snow' and Santa, and the crowd begins to gather early for that!

Enjoy amd relax Living in Florida now, I look forward to the party to get in the holiday spirit!!! You can't help but get "Merry"!

5:30 what day?

I just trashed my whole itinerary and now am starting over from scratch. I wasn't going to do MVMCP, but now I want to do this. This trip is just me, and my 2 youngest children (7 and 5). I wasn't going to do MVMCP because I didn't think the children would stay up that late, but I'm planning on getting up early and heading to AK. We would stay at AK for lunch, head back to POP for a nap, then go to MVMCP. I want to go on Tuesday, 12/13 (this will be the last full day of our trip).

I'm sure this info is on this thread somewhere, but it's just too large to go through all of the posts. Would someone please tell me:

1. How do I go about getting MVMCP tickets,
2. What times are the special parades during MVMCP,
3. When would be a good time to get to MK so we aren't standing in long lines just to get in?
4. I'm thinking a Tuesday would be a good day for MVMCP, do you agree?

Thanks! :)

Mary

I wish I was going on the 13th would take your LTT we are going on the 8th still keep trying....

call 407-W-DISNEY is the number to call for tickets. I just received mine in the mail. I have always gone mid weed and have been happy but you just never know which nights will sell out. Take it for what it's worth and enjoy the time you have there. That is my theory. My DD 5 & 8 and they can make it through the second parade

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=688683 this has last years schedule and it seems to be pretty much the same every year

2. I'm pretty sure past parade times are 8:15 and 10:45. If I'm wrong, beattyfamily will correct me. ;)
3. Anytime after 4:00 you can get in with just MVMCP tickets. Things are pretty slow at the entrance between 4:00 and 6:00 at least.
4. I bought tickets for Dec 6, so yes, I think Tuesday is a good day!

OK, we're going to the party 12/6. My question is, how much time should I plan at MK for another day? i.e., how many of the rides won't be open? I know I need to plan for Spectormagic another day, but what about the fireworks. Are the MVMCP fireworks so much better than Wishes that I won't feel the need to go on a "regular" night to see Wishes?

We're going 12/6 too!! :flower: That's a great question on the fireworks! I had been thinking we needed to be at MK on Sat night the 3rd to see Spectro and Wishes...but maybe we don't need to be if the weather forecast looks good for our MVMCP on the 6th. What do others think?????

The fireworks show at MVMCP IS Wishes, and it's as good or better than it is other nights. While it is worth seeing twice, you don't need to plan to see it another evening.

While you can do a lot of attractions at MVMCP, it would be a shame if you felt you had to concentrate on that. Give yourself another full day (at least 6 hours) at MK if you can.

You can do a lot of attractions during MCMCP, but you can also spend most of the evening really enjoying the shows, the snow, etc. Our plan this year (and this is what we did last year, too) was to spend a day at MK before MVMCP. This way everyone got to do and see what they wanted. Then, the night of the party we were able to enjoy the holiday offerings, and since the most popular rides are open the night of the party, that was our chance to do them for a second time.

We are also going on Tuesday the 6th. :Pinkbounc
I believe the MK has PM extra hours on Wednesday the 7th. We are hoping this is true so that we can sleep in after the MVMCP, do our 11:30 ressie at Crystal Palace for lunch and then spend the rest of the day into the evening in the MK. If anyone knows for sure if it is X Hrs that night could you please post? I'll have to do a little erasing on our itinerary. Thanks.

Just wondering if there is anyone still wanting a Wishes cruise on 12/4. We have space for 3 additional people. This is for the pontoon premium, so music will be piped in. This is a MVMCP evening, so the fireworks are suppose to be all over the park instead of just at the castle. I've been told this will be a great cruise.

LMK if you are interested in sharing the boat and taking these last spaces. It will be my family of 4, one DISer with her Dad, and another DISer.
