If we wait for VMCP, what should we do instead? Where can a young family w/ gpts enjoy maybe dinner, shopping and a view of the fireworks or something really "disney" to start off the trip? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

A good way to start out the trip is to hit the monorail resorts and check out the holiday decorations. You can watch Wishes from the Poly beach or the GF docks. You can also check out WL by hopping a boat from CR. Also, you can take the monorail to EPCOT and just enjoy its run through FW. And try to get the front car on that one! Other resorts to check out would be Y&BC and BW. Just take a bus to MGM and walk over to the boat dock or take a bus from your resort to DTD and switch off to one of the resort buses. There is plenty for everyone to do at BW and BC has a great restaurant called Beaches and Cream.
DTD is good also, but remember with a Friday night, it may be a bit crowded.

I am going to MVMCP on Dec 5 and will be canceling my PS at LTT for 5 people after all the phone lines aren't so busy. I did get PS for CP at 5:25 so we decided to eat there since we have not before.

I would consider doing the MVMCP on a different night. It is such a special evening, you will want the kids to have had good naps and be ready for the evening. We are taking our almost 3 year old and plan to spend the day at the resort -- pool or some games, nap, maybe shopping at DTD -- but be ready to go for this magical event!

Thank you so much for those wonderful suggestions! But, I am not staying on property, so wonder how easy it would be to do the monorail suggestion. That sounds great, and like what we are looking for. What would you suggest? Can I book a dinner at a monorail hotel and then take it around? I'm not sure how they monitor the parking lot and monorail (never stayed at one of those resorts). I know they don't check on the buses, where I've stayed at least.

I can't wait! Only 90 more days!! YEAH!! :Pinkbounc

Oh yeah, we decided to wait until our last night for VMCP! That way it's the finale to our vacation and what we will remember most. Plus, we won't have to get up really early the next day and can stay out as late as we like the night before! Yippee!! Can't wait!!

Anyone can park at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and use the monorails from there. You do not need to be staying at one of the resorts to do that. If you do decide to book dinner at one of the resorts then you can park in that resort's parking area.

Good luck planning your first night.

We will be there on 12/9! I'm a little surprised at how many people are going on that day.

Right now I have PS at LTT for 5:30pm. There are 9 of us. I've tried and tried to get earlier PS but they seem to be all booked up. I'm thinking about trying for CP instead hoping they can get us in earlier. Which do you think would be better?

:Pinkbounc Managed to get a 5:25 PS for Crystal Palace on 12/7 - may the planning commence :Pinkbounc

TracyL - I'll see you there. We got CP for 5:20 on the 7th. I talked to Disney Dining twice today and LTT is still full, with the exception of an opening at 6:40.

does anyone know how to print this entire thread at once? I seem to only be able to a page at a time... or even better, how to export it to word or excel so I can delete all the pictures/signatures/white space... thanks!

Thanks to this thread, I just ordered my tickets for 11/30, a tuesday night. I would rather have bought them while we are there (11-27 thru 12-6-05), but was afraid they would sell out!

I was going to go towards the end of our trip, but someone here said they were going to go as their trip grand finale, and it was pouring rain!

I will go on the 30th, and maybe go again on 12/2/04, a Thursday, or...maybe on our last night, 12/6/04, a Sunday. If the weather does not cooperate at least I will have gone on the 30th. If the 30th is a wash out, I will have two more chances to go during hipefully decent wether.

This is our first time to Disney in December. Me 53 and DH 54, kids grown! Yea! Just the two of us!

PS: What is CP?

If you really want an earlier PS then try for CP, it won't hurt and then if they have an earlier one you can switch them.

Also try when you get into WDW, maybe more times will open up, but because you have such a large group it might be harder.

Good luck!

Pattymouse - Congratulations on getting your tickets. I think its great that you and hubby will share this magical time together.

CP = Crystal Palace (usually) ....
....but during the time that people are talking about Christmas at Disney it could mean: Candle Light Processional at Epcot. Here is a link to information about it on AllEars: Candle Light Processional

That's so ironic. We have ressies at LTT for 11 on Dec 9th at 4:10. I wanted 5:30, but that was booked already. I am going to try calling Friday for CP at 5:30, but I'm afraid that won't work. I wanted to eat in that hour between the park closing and VMCP. Maybe we can switch? One of my 11 is in a highchair, maybe 9 would be close enough?

hi there!
Come and sign up on our thread of those that will be at MVMCP on the 30th!

Greetings, StacyA!

I will be at MVMCP on November 28th -- YEAH!

CP stands for Crystal Palace (located near Main Street at Magic Kingdom). I have not eaten there before, but it sure looks like a nice place!

Have a great time -- see you there! :Pinkbounc

I thought CP was Candlelight Procresional?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh:eek:

Well, my dear, you just might be right!

I guess it depends on if someone were talking about the MVMCP (Mickey's Christmas Party) at Magic Kingdom, then they would want dinner reservations at Crystal Palace.

However, if they were talking about Epcot, then it would be the Candlelight Processional.

See 'ya in November! :D

I'm trying to plan an itinerary for the party and am having trouble since there is so much to do. Can anyone tell me:

What each of the shows is about?
How long each one lasts?
A strategy for seeing it all?

Thanks!
