Also, do you ever ride the monorail around to see the MK hotel decorations? Any idea how long this takes?

Thanks!

I would like to know this as well.

I was going to go on the 7th......but now it seems like the best night is the 9th (a thursday) How are crowds then???? I'm excited that I'll be going back, even if its just for 4 days:D

would definately do this we check out as many resorts as we can just to see what they have done have stayed at contemporary and they have a nice tree and decorations have not seen poly but do check out grand floridian the tree is enormous and in 2002 they had a life size gingerbread house that they sold hot cocoa out of just too cool i would suggest doing the epcot resorts also just do it at night and go to the boardwalk and you can walk around the lake and see the ones at beachclub and yacht club also gorgeous check out the boardwalk inn reception area with the candy boardwalk too cool i think each resort chef will do a gingerbread or candy decoration or they have in the past as for time it depends how indepth you want to get a couple of hours maybe fine or shorter if you just want to see the registration areas

There was a tour offered some time back about how disney gets ready for the holiday season seemed very cool but traveling with little ones could never do it maybe we'll go one year on a adult trip

Does anyone know if Cosmic Ray's is open during MVMCP? Does it close at 6pm? With a party of 16, I was thinking it would be easiest to meet there at 5:30 or so and have dinner a bit more casually since we'll be herded into Tomorrowland, anyway!

That is one of the only counter services open during that hour that the park is closed.

Okay, I know that a PS at LTT will get you in early, and I've read and read and read about the after four walk-ins as well, but when I called for my PS at CP for before the MVMCP on 11/28 (and specified that was the reason I was making the PS, etc.) the CM said I'd need tickets for that day.

Well, I told her about reading that PS's could get you in early and while she acknowledged that there were certain restaurants they would do that for and escort you to them, CP was not one of them (she even checked with a supervisor...well, she put me on hold for the length of "You Can Fly" lol who knows if she actually asked anyone!).

Is this more "company line" talking or do you really think we'll have a problem?

We originally planned to head down only for the evening of the MVMCP and then go home the next day, taking advantage of the cheap rates at the Value Resorts, ya know, but have also been playing with the idea of driving down on Saturday, splitting the ressie because of the holiday blackout, and doing a park Sunday morning (we do have a day left on our hopper pass, so it wouldn't matter if we did it this way then we COULD just hop into MK after doing MGM or something that morning), but but but...

Okay, I'm rambling, but y'all have to understand: we just got back from an EPCOT weekend 2 weeks ago and I actually managed to convince dh to bring me back already THIS YEAR so I can see Disney and Christmas and, well, I'm more excited than maybe a 28 year old has a right to be! LOL

For the past 2 years at least they have been letting party goers in after 4:00p with just there party tickets. Does NOT matter whether you are eating or not. They allow this so that not everyone is entering the park at the same time.

I remember when the park closed for 2 hours and the ONLY way to stay in the park was eating at a restaurant so it was an even bigger deal to have a PS if you wanted a head start on the party. No longer necessary now.

You will sometimes get CMs who do not know that MK allows party goers in after 4:00p to alleive the 7:00p party start crowds.

How is the snow handled on Main Street? Does it come down at certain times only - like during the parade - or does it snow for the whole party?

Does anyone know the length of the shows? How long is Mickey's T'was a night before Christmas, Belle's Enchanted Christmas, Celebrate the Seasons and Snowflake Storyteller?

Last year the time for Celebrate the Seasons was for 7 pm. Since that is the official opening time, does it start on time or a few minutes late? Is this a good time to do Fantasyland as most everyone coming in will stop for the show?

Any answers would be appreaciated.

Reposting just to see if anyone has any answers to these questions.

Ok since it is getting close to make PS for MVMCP (other than LTT). What time is good for dinner PS so you are done in time to not miss the festivities that start at 7 pm. I am looking for CP.

any time between 4:00p and 6:00p at the latest would be good. You'd be done by 7:00p.

I prefer between 5:00p and 5:30p PS.

Wahooo!!! Our first Christmas time visit to WDW!

:earsgirl: :earsboy: ::MinnieMo

We can't wait!

My husband and I are going to WDW Dec 5th - Dec 12th!

And we are going to MVMCP Dec 7th!

I am sooo excited!

We are looking to forward to this vacation so much!

Is a certain night of the week better than another for attending the MVMCP?

Calling all you experienced MVMCP party people!

Which events/shows would you recommend especially for adults? Or perhaps an easier way to put this: which events, geared more toward the little ones, could I skip? It will just be my sister and I (in our 30's), and I doubt we will be able to see it all since it sounds like there is so much going on! Anything we should not miss??

Thanks so much!

From what I have read and can tell..any MMVMCP that is on a weekend will be busy..simply because the locals will go.

We are going on a Tuesday and a Thursday.

We can't wait..

Is it December yet?

Just wondering if anyone who made PS at LTT are know going to change restaurants at your 90 day mark?

We are going on Dec. 5th, which is a Sunday night. I am hoping that it won't be too crowded with locals since people have to get up for work/school on Monday morning. Even if it is sold out, how crowded would it be? 20,000 people sounds like a lot but I don't have a clue how that would be with people all spread out thoughout the park. Also, is there a limit to the cocoa? I mean, do you get a voucher or something and get one per person? If it's cold that night it would be nice to be able to grab a cocoa from time to time to warm up.

There is no limit on the cocoa. They basically set them, along with the cookies out, on counters were you stand in line to get them. However, when we picked ours up in Liberty Square, they were pouring the cocoa in front of us, and it was kind of annoying when there would be two people in front of us getting four cups each (understandable if they have children seated somewhere, but it was eight adults who staked out a table). We only took one cup each and went back for more as needed, as a courtesy to the others in line.

Disney/Kids - I am planning to get CP for the December 16 MVMCP and cancelling my LTT (5:30) for that day.

HI! I'm kinda' new here and was looking for a little Christmas time advice.

I went to the VMMCP 6 years ago and loved it! This year I am going back w/ my dd's ages 4 and 1. They've never been and that's going to make it so much more special. I can't wait!

My question is: we arrive Dec. 3, flying through Chicago from Phila on our way to Orlando (don't ask, the tickets are a gift from my folks who are also coming w/ us, and were inexpensive). We're due to arrive in Orlando at 2:00 pm. I am trying to decide what to do w/ our first day. I'm not sure how tired (and or cranky) the kids (and adults) may be. Originally I wanted to do VMMCP this night to kick things off w/ a bang. Now I'm starting to worry that our flight might be delayed, the kids will be tired and cranky and maybe we should wait and do it a different night. Plus, the Friday's tend to be more crowded. What do you think?

If we wait for VMCP, what should we do instead? Where can a young family w/ gpts enjoy maybe dinner, shopping and a view of the fireworks or something really "disney" to start off the trip? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
