For those that have gone in the past, can you give me some background on this event?

I'm still sort of on the fence on going, having never gone, so I'd like to know if it's really worth it to buy a ticket for the event.

DISNEYLAND IN OCTOBER!!! CAN'T WAIT!! :)

We went last year, and are going again this year. My kids had a blast. We all enjoyed seeing everyone all decked out in their costumes. They give out candy and stuff at the trick or treat stations, and man do they hook it up!! Supposedly ride lines are very very short, but we didnt do the rides. They have several spots that have characters out dancing while the music is playing, and they interact very well with the guests. They have a few games set up to play. They had a mini parade, that, honestly, sucked big mouse butt. I will not watch that again. Overall, it was fun, and I would definately recommend it!!
HTH!!

Let's see, you can get candy, candy, and more candy! Unless you want the healthy alternative. There are candy stations around the park and you can visit them as much as you want. There are villans and other characters that dress up and the lines to take pics w/ them are always long. Lines for rides usually aren't that long bc everyone is getting candy. There's little arts and crafts things at certain stations. There's lots of festive lights and decorations! There were lots of fake candy corn last year, don't know if it's going to return or not. There's also talking scarecrows by Bug's Land/Bountiful Farms. There's music w/ a DJ and dancing and characters come out. Oh yeah, a mini parade debuted last year. All I remember is one little float. lol. Hmmm....did I mention that you can get candy? Hope this gives you an idea.

AllEars has some info and pictures from last year's party, and links to some first hand reports here: http://allears.net/dlr/tp/dca/mht.htm

We've gone every year and enjoy it - it's not Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, but they keep improving it a little bit every year - I keep hoping that we'll get fireworks one of these years, but I'm guessing that won't happen until the DCA expansion which puts in the lagoon show is finished. You can come home with TONS of candy. And it's fun to see all the different costumes people wear - though of course not everyone wears a costume, and that's fine, too.

Do they give you Trick or Treat bags to carry all your candy or do you need to bring your own?

I came here to ask the same question, but you beat me to it!

We are trying to decide if it's worth another $150......

Our youngest is a chicken, he is afraid of everything and anything (he hates the characters, for example). I'm worried that he might be too frightened and have to leave early.
