So, kinda concerned, we went in '07 and it was fabu! But as of yet i have read not alot about this years and most of what i have read hasn't been great on top of that we go on Thursday....aka...3 days!!!! :confused3 We are so looking forward to this and i would love to hear how the other party went, besides the parking as we are in bwppi and can walk! Thank you for any help!;)

I thought it was just fine. It was our first time. The kids enjoyed it. Great to see the costumes. Short wait for lines, and great to see the park all decked out with spider webs and other illuminations here and there. Lines seemed long for characters, but we didn't do those. Dance party was fun. Candy was plentiful. I thought it was certainly well worth the price we paid with our AP discount anyhow. I was there on a Thursday too and it was not too crowded. I would have hated it if it had been packed.

My dd and I will be there on Thursday also. DD will be dressed as Alice and I am Tiger Lily. What will you be dressed as?
We are so looking forward to this trip. Only 2 more sleeps!

I thought it was fun, I went on Oct. 8th and the crowds seemed ok considering the park reached capacity the next day. This was my 2nd time, the first time was in 2007 and I didn't really like it much then - didn't like it because we showed up late and pretty much left after we got candy, we were staying onsite, stayed onsite on this last trip too but accomplished a lot more.

Since we weren't there long the first time, I had no idea some of the larger rides were even open! Had we known that Tower and Soarin would be open on this last trip we would have shown up a little earlier to take better advantage of them. Soarin was practically empty which was great! Toy Story was packed the way it usually is during the day, didn't check out the Rollercoaster or make it over to the Tower line, just stuck with whatever the 5 year old I was traveling with wanted to see.

Plenty of candy, for both adults and kids - plenty of adults in costume without kids asking for candy so don't feel shy or anything like that, you have paid to be there so get your candy's worth. And the people posted at the stations change very often so don't worry about being recognized if you decide to hit them up again. I didn't wear a costume but brought along clothing with Halloween print and Halloween accessories, the 5 year old was Wolverine.

Is the ToT party the same as MNSSHP at wdw? Do they have a special parade and fireworks?

I've never been to DL but are hoping to get over to CA next October so would love to do this next year whilst we are there.

No, it is much smaller and is held in DCA. There is a mini parade - nothing on par with WDW. It is cute but much much smaller.

DL has amazing fireworks this year but they are not a part of the party and take place at DL not DCA.

I thought the party was ok. We were there the 8th. We had done the Chritmas party at WDW this past year and I thought that was fabulous so I guess maybe I had higher expectations. We did get a lot of candy but the lines up front at the beginning were very long. Some characters had short lines but others were just too long for us to wait in which was a bummer. I thought there were more villans out than we normally see but most of the other characters were not special for the party from what I could tell. The decorations and music made it feel very "haunted" and I enjoyed that. Lines for rides were short except TSMM.

I think if I didn't have an annual pass and thought of it as admission + the extras it'd be worth it. With the annual pass it was just really the extras and not sure it was worth the money but glad to say we've gone!

I have to laugh here!!! Every time I see TOT, I'm thinking Tower of Terror. What can I say? :rotfl2: it's the abbreviation used for that attraction over on the WDW board. :rotfl::rotfl: Now, your posts make sense!:rolleyes1

Thank you for your help. Are the halloween fireworks on everynight in DL?

OP, Sorry to hijack. :flower3:

We were at DLR the last week of September (first week of the Halloween celebrations). We attended the first ToT party on Friday, 10/2. It was sold out that night but it didn't feel overly crowded. We enjoyed it...lots of candy, short rides and it was the only night of our trip that DCA was open after dark. It was great riding Screamin' at night and to see the fun wheel and all of the pier after dark. Also, they put up decorations (blowup mickey ghosts) that were only up for the party. For the my DH and I, we thought it was worth it but as an earlier poster mentioned, it is much smaller than MNSSHP.

We use the same abbreviation here, some of add the P to the end for the ToT Party, I usually use ToTP or ToT Party when I'm talking about it.

OP we went last Friday, we had a GREAT time!! Ran into the coolest costumes, DD13 was Constance and we saw some other HM characters and we took photos all together, that was super fun!! We each got 1 full bag of candy, we rode rides, we played boardwalk games (they are free) and we people watched. Some of the costumes were just amazing, others were just odd, but they were all fun to see. I was the ONLY Meg, but no one knew who I was, even with my Meg pin on and standing next to Hercules, everyone knew who DBF was but no one knew who I was...whatever, I still had a GREAT time! :) And yes, I'd love to go again THIS year! LOL

Glad you had a great time! I didn't know the games were free during the party either! We're not going to the party this year but maybe we'll go someday when DS can appreciate it more. That's funny that no one recognized who you were. I guess it's not the most popular movie but still.....it sounds like you had plenty of things to indicate who you were.

I'll have to post a photo for you guys to see, my costume was really cute and I looked so much like Meg! LOL And yes, who else would be walking around with Hercules....and everyone knew who he was, he got all kinds of compliments and I got nuttin...and my costume was actually creative, his was just out of a bag from the Halloween store! LOL But I'm not bitter....ROFL!!

And yes, the games were free, the winner got a free piece of candy not the toys they usually hand out. It was fun, like I said, I want to do it again this year! LOL

Oh, the games are really FREE during the party? I didn't know that!

Yep, DS8 loved playing the games since we don't usually spring for those. They don't give out the regular prizes to the winners, but just more candy. We went to the ToT on Thurs, Oct 8. It was our first time and we enjoyed it very much. Our only complaint was the long lines for photos with characters. Otherwise we had a great time riding the rides, getting LOTS of candy, and just wandering about enjoying the sites.

We are going to the party on 10/31. What time can we get into the park? Do they close it and make everyone leave? My dh and ds and I have annual passes but my mom does not and only has the party ticket for that day. We are just wondering how it works.

In order to clear out the day guests, they close the park about 60-90 minutes before the ToT party starts. You'll be allowed through the gates about 10-15 min before the official start time for the party. Just show your ToT ticket, not your AP. The entry points to the various areas (Condor Flats, Back Lot, etc) are roped off until the official start time. They do a count down, drop the rope, and off you go.
