Mickey's So Long Summer Cruise 2.0

The airfare for MCO is not bad right now. May get a little cheaper later. It's under $250.00 if we come back on the 21st. It's less than $190.00 if we come back on Monday:confused3

Have to pay for luggage on US Airways:eek:

I am planning to come in on the Saturday before the cruise so I will have to see how much the extra days will work with the car rental and an extra night's stay.

Last cruise I dropped the car off at Budget and then waited forever to get a shuttle to the port:scared1: I just got my photo taken before they called our group number to get on the ship.

This year I'm thinking of driving to the port and leaving the rental and having it on our way to the airport:thumbsup2

I may wait a little while to buy my tickets since these two carriers may merge. This will hopefully bring fares down out of Philly:thumbsup2

How did you do on airfare?

Did you go apple picking? My DD's and I went yesterday afternoon. I should have given the 10 yr old a smaller bucket - she picked 17 lbs of apples, between the 2 girls and myself we picked about 40 lbs of apples!! $35 later we had more than enough apples to share with all our neighbors. Once they started picking they just couldn't stop! LOL

I was in my cloud of pixie dust for a little bit until our applepicking, leaf watching day....things just didn't seem to work out. We will try again this week, as the orchards get so crowded on the weekends. It is easy to leave there with tons of apples. It nice that I take such a healthy fruit and sugar it up to make such fattening treats!!

I took a peak at the thread of people trying to book palo and excursions for the MV cruise. They were stating that the DCL website was down a lot.

I wonder what's going to happen when the silver members try to book any cruise:confused3

It was bad when we had the Magic or the Wonder. What will happen when the Dream and Fantasy started booking:scared1:

This will only be my second cruise, so I guess I will be outta luck!
When we first booked Palo, we got a bad reservation time- we just called them when we were on board and they said we could come in whenever we wanted...they said they get so many no shows and cancellations

The problem with this cruise is that they probably will only have one brunch at palo. I personally think that this is the best time to go. Others like dinner and will have more options.

If I can't get it online, I will try to get it on the day of embarkation:thumbsup2

Okay people, I'm pissed!!!

Did anyone else get emails for no reason from DCL for our Dream reservation???

I did some checking... they're assigning show times. I think f-ing not! We have second seating dinner with an assigned show time of 5pm. Are you friggin' kidding me? I'm still sitting on the deck getting trashed at 5pm. What? We're suppose to pack it up at 3pm to get ready??? Call the kids in at 3? They'll kill us!!! Who came up with this bright idea???

Time to stand on some heads.

I did not get any kind of email about assigned show times. I agree 5 is too early!

DCL spit out two emails to me... confirming my Dream cruise. I was like what???

I went online looking at the reservation, the same one I made last November. Dinner was second seating like it should be...

Then I see assigned show time of 5pm...

Have a look for yourself...

I checked out our show time, and it is 7pm. Maybe its because we have older kids (2 teens and a preteen)? I wonder if the first seating has 2 different show times. I can see a 9pm, but 11pm would be really late.

I didn't get any emails. I emailed DU and they stated that my show time was 9:00 p.m.

Later that night, they put the same thing on my online reservation. The TA said that this was the default time for main dining. Since I have a TA, I can't see it online myself:scared1:

While checking the DCL site for show times, I noticed that more cabins are available including ocean views.

I wonder if people are changing their minds and saving their money until 2012:confused3

Hey All!

I changed my show time to 7pm. When I called DCL I had a very interesting conversations with the CM. She told me they added 3 shows per night and shortened the shows to accomadate everyone.

She also gave me some Fantasy rumors. A: she'll be sailing out of PC. B: she'll be doing 7 nighty eastern/western, C: dates should come out in the next few weeks for early sailings in 2012.

Joe, I agree with you. Cabins are showing up on the Dream. Have you checked the prices lately? For a family of 3, on a 5 night cruise it's anywhere between 6 and 8 hundred a night!!! I can't blame people!

We are thinking long and hard about this cruise. Yes, I can't wait to go on the new ship. Yes, I got in at a good price. But, it's only 5 nights?!...

There will probably be more availibility after the Fantasy dates come out. Especially if prices are the same as the 5 Night that we are on.

Congratulations on getting the 7:00 p.m. show time. We eat at 6:00 p.m. and have the 9:00 p.m. show time. My DW will be falling asleep on the first night during the show.

Is it just me or would any of you still cruise on the Magic or the Wonder if the ports were interesting:confused3

I believe that once I get my exposure to the new ships that I might prefer the wonder or magic if they continue to maintain them and spruce up the cabins a bit.

Anybody with me:)

I'm in! I would not mind "slumming" it on the Magic...
