What are the age and height requirments for Mickey's slide?

The restrictions are age 4-12 years and no taller than 64 inches. We went in January with a friend of my dd who was 10 at the time, but was a TALL 64 1/2". (she wears a size 9 shoe already!) She was wanting to go down the slide, and because of her height and the fact that she was with my daughter, who is much shorter, they allowed her to try it once. Bummer. But, rules are rules........

Hi all,

Since the Mickey Pool has been brought up, I have a question.
How deep is it? Does anyone know if there is a thread already about the pool?? ( That way I can sit back and read it and then see if I have anymore ??):)

The "ears" are so perfect for little ones. My almost 5-yr-old DS spend many hours there. He talks constantly about the pool.

By the way, with all the colors reflecting into the water, it makes for a great picture. We took one ourselves that turned out to be my favorite. Can't wait to go back!!!!!!!!

The pool is only a foot and a half deep....my 2 year old stood in it and it was only up to her waist.

:) I am sure my 4 year old daughter will also be spending alot of time in the "ears"

I, myself, have never gone down the slide, but, I have seen little children slide down it, and they seem to enjoy it.
They are usually fairly strict about adhereing to the size limits for going down the slide; therefore, to prevent your child from being disappointed, I would measure them before they left home. Because I have seen children sent back down the steps, without going down the slide, because they were too tall or too short.
Look at this way, if the child is too short for Mickey's Slide this cruise, you have another reason to go on a future cruise. Enjoy!

It is a shame they can't go by height rather than age for the smallest!, my 3-1/2yr will be desperate to go on the slide. He will be upset not being allowed, but hopefully get over it!

I'm whispering this ...... last cruise we met someone who's daughter wasn't quite 4 and she was sliding all day! My daughter was barely 4 and they never asked her age so depending on how tall and independent your 3 1/2 year old is I'd give it a try. ;) It's not a huge slide and if on our Oct. cruise this time my 3 year old was willing (which she won't be) I'd let her go for it.

My son was a big 3-1/2 when he went up the steps and got sent back down. He was tearily disappointed. The CM had asked him how old he was, and he said 3-1/2. I struggled to hold back the urge of telling him to say he's 4... On reflection, it's a good thing I did. It would've gone against everything we have taught him about honesty. It just seemed so silly at the time...

I am a little confused . Do they go by age or height? Does anyone know the answer. :)

And to add to what Dave said.....if you are taller than 64 inches, they don't care how old you are....you may not use the slide.

I think the min. height is 36". Our daughter had just turned three and they let her go down (she's 38") even though I told them she wasn't four. They said the age groups were really only their recommendations, but the sizes were more important. It's up to the parents as to what they and their child are comfortable. Maybe they aren't uniform in enforcing their rules?

thanks katmom. I won't mention anything to dd until we are there. She's tall enough, but she's three so we'll have to see!

Any info about he other pools? Are they salt water or freshwater?
We're first time cruisers and we're very curious? thanks Donna
